Description: More than 150 wines by the glass. Port wine flights. One of the best selections of portuguese cheeses, and charcuterie, combined in mixed boards. Handmade canned fish delights. Rare and old Port and Madeira wines collection, also by the glass. Please note: this is a small and informal traditional wine bar with tapas of cheese and charcuterie that does NOT have any cooked meals; opens around 6pm and starts closing at 11pm, therefore the options breakfast/brunch and late night do not apply; closes on Mondays. Thank you.

We were so impressed with the service and knowledge of wine at this place that we are continuing the experience at home! This is a small wine bar seating about 16 people. This means you are assured of attentive service, and superior knowledge of Portuguese wines and ports. They have excellent cheeses and meats and jams/chutneys. Please do not go expecting cooked food, nor wine pairing as the emphasis is pairing to your palette and happiness, not to food. The patience and kindness of Carla was commendable. My partner is very nervous about the "snobbery" of wine tasting, but she quickly relaxed and enjoyed the whole experience. The place was full including a table of ten and we did not experience any dip in service. You should book at the weekends as we saw people turned away.

The owner, Rui, made it very clear that BA Wine Bar is not a Resturant, and should not really be categorised as such. His knowledge of Portuguese wines is exemplary, as is his waitress's. It is a small establishment with a max of 16 covers. Great place to go to find your favourite Portuguese wine, but not satisfy your hunger.

A group of 3 of us went here after reading TA. Not a disappointment!! We were told about all sorts of local wines of all sorts and prices. We were offered a multitude of tastings so that we would be certain of our final selection(s.) We paired the wine with their small bites and canned, yes canned, fish. We had the octopus, sardines and tuna. Loved the sardines! Small and not rushed. This is NOT a restaurant, rather a wine experience. Only 18 months old and they are on the right track! They know their stuff, and are proud to educate, share and make you feel comfortable!

Great wine, excellent staff, but they struggle when its busy, we had some problems with our food order and were often neglected for long periods, they really should have a 3rd or fourth on hand, but everything was good and they gave us a complimentary sparkling wine b/c, but one of the best wine bars i've been to anywhere in the world.

It was clear as soon as we walked into this little establishment just how much the staff cared for their restaurant and for the wines, meats and cheeses they served us. Each server had a deep knowledge of the products they were serving, helping to guide you to the perfect choice while taking you on a virtual tour of the various wine-making regions of Portugal.

Forget you preconceptions at the door; when our server asked us to try a port as we were preparing to leave, I made the mistake of saying I wasn't a fan of fortified wines, but as soon as I tasted the ruby late-bottled vintage port she poured me I began literally drinking my words and ended up buying a bottle before we left. Truly an eye-opening experience!

Enjoy it!
