Flew into Lisboa at 11:30am, checked in to the hotel around the corner from Praca de le Camoes by 12:30 had a bite to eat at a neighborhood taberna then met up for the 3pm English walking tour led by Chiuzo. Highly recommend this tour, especially for 1st timers to Lisboa and early in the trip. Chiuzo was a very enthusiastic, excellent historian who expertly guided our group-split into 2 groups for a smaller and more intimate tour. Our walk was about 3 1/2 hours of fun-even my 80 year old parents enjoyed the tour and had no problem with the hills of Lisboa. Many local tips were shared with us. We loved going back to some of the spots throughout our stay-even finding the Ginginja lady again in Alfama. Well spent 3 1/2 hours. Note that you do not end up at the starting point, but on the top of Alfama-no problem to grab a Tuc tuc, uber or just walk about 20 minutes back.

One of my best walking tours so far.
I would highly recommend at the beginning of your trip in Lisbon.
We enjoyed all the 3 hours with our local tour guide, Chiuzo. He introduced us many aspects of history, architecture, the cultural, food, drink and music, differences between the different districts.
And super thanks for your tips as well.

Chiuzo was my tour guide this week. What a wonderful way to get to see the city and learn all the facts about Lisbon that you didn’t know! Chiuzo knew all the facts and so much about the history and neighborhoods. The time flew by . Iwould highly recommend taking this tour .

We had an amazing private tour with Jose. As a group of students it can be hard to grab our attention for long - Jose however did this marvellously with some really interesting facts and great humour. Thank you for showing us the local side of Lisbon!

We loved this tour. Maria and Nuno expertly guided our group on a fairly flat - just a couple of climbs, and nicely paced 4 hour walking tour.

The local insights were great and we saw and learnt more about Lisbon than we otherwise would have done.

Our daughter did the tour before and recommended it. She wasn’t wrong, how lovely to have a local person helping you understand about Lisbon. Marianna was very personable, spoke with enthusiasm about the city and gave honest opinions about what was worth seeing and how to avoid common tourist ‘mistakes’. The tour doesn’t take you inside anywhere just walks around the city, with some fabulous views. After she advised us to walk up to the Graca square - where we found a lovely restaurant which was queuing out of the door when we left. The tour doesn’t charge - you are asked to make a donation for what you think it was worth - and yes we thought it was well worth paying Marianna!

We took a tour with great and passionate guide Dorota, who is originally from Poland, but she was describing and showing us Lisbon as her birthplace. Her enthusiasm made this tour even better and thanks to her advices also we tried typical and authentic restaurant with traditional dishes.

I visited Lisbon in October 2018 and wanted to know more about this beautiful city. Me and a friend joined the tour with Ines and were really pleased. At first it may seem to you that the tour is quite long (approximately 3 hours) but the time passes like minutes. We walked through most of the neighborhoods around the city center in a slow pace and visited places, most of which are not included in the maps and travel guides. Ines has shown us how the local people live and has told us many stories trying to cover the interests of every member of the group. It was not only informative but emotional as well. What I really liked is that the tour was carried through with respect to the local people and we felt like real travellers and not just tourists.

Olá!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this amazing review!

As we always say in the beggining of the tour, the places that are marked on the maps you can visit on your own, we always try to make the best out of the time you have with us to show you and tell you the things you wouldn't know otherwise. From my part I always talk about things and places that move me, I'm happy to see that you as well felt moved by what I was trying to transmit!

Hope to see you again in Lisbon and I wish you all the best in your travels!
Inês

Our guide Ines took us on a voyage in time around the Lisbon centro. Very dynamic approach, and giving much explanations and informations about the way of life now and then. Authentic and respectful of the history facts, she was able to capture our attention by her story telling skills. A great 3 hours that ended too soon.

An informative tour that somehow managed to keep us out of the frequent showers! Pedro gave us an interesting summary of Portuguese history and culture peppered with literary and musical performances. A great way to orientate yourself in the city while supporting a local operation. Would recommend.
