Staff was nice...Quick to serve, happy to serve, and deftly accommodated and served a party of 8.

What my problem with this restaurant was that the food was good, but for the price it didn't exactly rub me the right way, i mean, it was the most expensive meal we had in our Europe trip, and all for steamed seafood that we were able to get at a restaurant in Nazare, Portugal, for HALF the price...and better taste. this is one restaurant bourdain has been to that i didnt like. ugh!

In reading previous reviews, I wonder who goes to a well-known, classic seafood and shellfish restaurant and orders a beef sandwich! Hard to imagine. Yes it is very busy, crowded, seating is communal, but that creates a very enjoyable and exciting atmosphere. They don't take reservations, so just go and plan to wait. Just watching the amazing dishes of fresh crab and lobster (albeit expensive) on the tables is worth the experience. The owner is omnipresent, and even with the small entryway and large crowds accumulating outside, it is orchestrated in a manner of organized chaos. One can order appetizers at the bar or outside, and have a glass of wine or beer while waiting. Everyone is having a fun time and enjoying themselves. The toasted buttered rolls presented to each table are terrific, and provided the perfect vehicle to enjoy the black pig presunto and to sop up the juices of the fabulous garlic shrimp and Ameijoas Buhlao Pato. But to top off the experience, because of the communal nature of the restaurant, we were able to engage a local couple in conversation with sharing of ideas and even offered tasting samples of their meal. That is the way to enjoy oneself on holiday. Live like the locals!

5 of us had ordered a lobster that we chose from the tank , shrimps, prawns, fresh oyster, clams, ham, etc. They all taste fresh and ok, but they don't use a lot of herbs/seasoning, so it's more like simple steam kind of fresh seafood. We spent around 100 euros each, I think it's overpriced and it's for tourists. The waiters there are very busy and aren't very polite, he grabbed the lobster from the tank and let the water dropping on us and our coats. Moreover, we saw a woman was running crazily after a man, looked like he just robbed her, the street is a bit dark and it doesn't seem very safe there if you walk alone.

Well, Ramiro is what it is: a great place for seafood with friends! It is very busy, noisy and the tables are very close together. The service is quick, but forget kindness, waiters are speeding all the time! Seafood is very fresh and well cooked, with minimum manipulation. Beer and buttered toasts keep coming without you asking for it unless you tell them to stop!

We ate here tonight. We found it an experience but an expensive one. When we arrived there was a somewhat chaotic queue outside but after about twenty minutes we were seated. Inside is alas chaotic in this no frills eaterie. We had the garlic prawns, tasty. We also ordered the crab and a rock lobster I.e. the large one. Here we could have done with the honest assistance of the waiter, who nice and hardworking, spoke no English. We should have been advised to have either the crab or he lobster but not both. And given the price we paid it would have been welcome advice. In any case the crab arrived, big and tasty, no dressing or frills. It that is part of the charm. After that we were fairly stuffed and then the lobster arrived. It was massive and again no frills or dressing, of course the sweetness of the lobster speaks for itself. We got a shock when the bill arrived, though. It was 140 euro. The lobster was 92 and the crab was 32. I found it pricey and would probably not return because there is better value to be had. Still we had an enjoyable experience.
