“Lisboa's Coziest Corner!!”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

Zuza guesthouse is an adorable 3 story Lisbonian apartment in one of the best areas in the center of the city. As you step inside the building your eyes indulge in the beauty of the Portuguese tiles and the fun and whimsical decoration of the entire place tickles your soul. And this is not the end as you walk around the building you will find that cutest coffee table book, picture frame and accessories that you just can’t get enough of watching them.
Besides its appealing appearance, the nicest and most helpful staff runs this adorable guesthouse. Lovely Joao and Ze gave us the best insider tips that a tourist can ever ask for and they really helped us experience an authentic Lisbonian experience in our short stay in that city.
Zuza guesthouse is absolutely clean and comfortable. The washrooms are shared but they are cleaned over and over again everyday. Although we did not have an air conditioning system in our room, Zuza people were so nice that they immediately provided us with portable fans. Zuza guesthouse is absolutely safe and each room has its own safe box.
On top of everything else, the breakfast was fresh and tasty and it was served with Zuza team’s jubilant attitude.
Lastly, Zuza lodging is the best place for travelers who are looking for a cheerful and comfortable setting while staying on their budget. Zuzaaaaaaaa’s all the way

We had a great time in Lisbon, and Luis and his staff were a big part of that. They were so helpful and our stay at the guesthouse was extremely comfortable. It's a perfect location for exploring Lisbon. We would no doubt stay there again and highly recommend Zuzabed to anyone traveling to Portugal! P.S. the guesthouse breakfast is really good, especially the eggs :)

This guesthouse is a gem set in the most desirable location of Lisbon. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful. They provide a stellar breakfast and make sure the place is always clean. We felt very safe at Zuza Guesthouse. I highly recommend!

After revisiting the Zuza Residence apt, we also decided to try the newest Zuza venture, Zuza Cozy Suite and cozy and sweet it was indeed. Another home run for Zuza.
The suite is small but the elegance and illusion of additional space is like living in an architectural wonder. A beautiful archway reminds the guest of the historic foundation yet the Zuza contemporary, eclectic style and in this case, the butterfly theme highlight the suites appeal. Distinct rooms are created with mesh drapes for privacy and a sense of airiness. For my elderly mom of 87yrs, she spent days here and commented on the comfort and how cute and whimsical the decor is like sleeping in a doll house. Vibrant colors of turquoise blues, flaming red and sunshine yellow create a contrast against the stark white walls and it pops Portuguese style. The multicolored chandelier reminds one of all the hues of a carousel. The beds are comfy and are decorated with an abundance of plushy soft pillows to fall into with extra soft blankets and find a cozy spot to relax after a busy day. It should be noted that although we were a party of 2, the suite can safely and comfortably house 4 guests. The bath is equipped with modern fixtures and conveniences at your fingertips. One nice feature is the heated towel rack for freshening up odds and ends. The small sitting area in the bedroom is framed by a large ornate Murano mirror which adds a historical whisper. My favorite detail is the window less shelve with an engaging butterfly vase. There is a picturesque original landscape painting as well as other original works of art from Luis aka Mr Zuza’s private collection which are on display for ones enjoyment and pleasure.
The suite is situated on the ground level and perfect for advanced aged travelers or for those with difficulty with stairs. No stairs need apply. The mini kitchen has a fridge, microwave, hot plate, kettle, toaster, juicer, sink and table ware for those craving extra snacks. It is apparent that mindful thought has gone into every detail with the guests comfort foremost. For example the varied selection of cd’s book titles and magazines can capture the interest of different personalities and tastes.
With regard to location. Location, location, the answer is....the best! Right next door is the Zuza Guest House where the Suite is adjacent to and a few seconds walk away, one will find the B&B Zuzabed. The Rossio train station, buses, taxis, sights, shops and restaurants are a stone’s throw away. Not to forget, a complimentary breakfast is served as well. This isn't the ordinary European continental breakfast. The Zuza extensive breakfast includes fresh fruit, breads, cake, cheese, meats, gourmet portuguese coffee, fresh squeezed juice and eggs made to order!
As always we have been impressed with the Zuza product. The continued professional, warm and efficient team led by Luis Zuzarte can be relied upon for an exceptional stay. He has been the mastermind and visionary of his unique and comfortable concept of accommodations.

His heart and soul can be felt in every nuance. In summary, the Cozy Suite is crisp, clean and charming where contemporary meets historic on a tiny Rua (street) in the heart of the city center.
So if you are seeking comfort and the coziness of home, the Cozy Suite awaits you and invites you to drop in and get cozy!

Room Tip: A great choice for aged travellers with difficulty with stairs also an excellent choice for families...

We spent just two nights in the ZUZA Guest House and felt more than comfortable. The rooms are very cosy and stylishly decorated, the service is excellent, the ZUZA people are very very warm and welcoming, the breakfast is nice and nothing like the general hostel breakfast (best thing is the freshly brewed coffee, yum!). You immediately feel like coming home. ZUZA is really a great recommendation. You just have to try it!

Excellent hostel with a perfect quality-price ratio. VEry clean, cosy rooms, quite...little boutique hostel atmosphere. Staff was very friendly and proactive, also gave a lot of insider advices. And the best was the nice breakfast every morning...perfect start for the day. Would recommend it for people who looks for familar atmosphere, great value and last but not least the perfect location. You can do everything (except Belem for sure) in walking distance...
