First of all, we chose this restaurant based on the Italian reviews. It's one criteria that has never let us down, as Italians are especially demanding and a string of positive feedback from our fellow Italians almost invariably translates into high quality.
Secondly, my girlfriend is from the Vercelli area in Italy, so she knows a thing or two about well creamed risottos....
We had the Seared Scallops with cuttlefish ink risotto and the Squid risotto. Both delicious, but the latter was superb.
The starters were also very good: a Salmon Ceviche and Sauteed Prawns on Ginger Oil. Absolutely mouth watering.
The waitress (who speaks excellent English) is competent, thoughtful, attentive and perfectly paced. She really goes out of her way and we could not ask for more.
This is highly recommended to anyone in search of a traditional Porto meal with some refinement and creativity put into the mix. It probably stands out from the numerous other places that line the local streets. Make sure to book in advance as the place is tiny and pretty much packed for the whole night.
All things considered, this was an excellent dinner.
Do yourself a favor and put this on top of your Porto gastronomic wishlist, you won't be disappointed.
