This is a great location for seeing the sights of Lisbon. The yellow bus and tram tourist rides are extremely interesting and informative and a fair price. The tube is excellent and we took this to get back to the airport, easy and far cheaper than the taxi that brought us.
A visit to the working Convento dos Cardais for a small fee you will be amazed at the hidden treasures within.

We were reserved at this property through our tour with Gate 1 July 20 & 21 2014. It was the best hotel location. The views were just perfect. I cant say that the views from our rooms were the best, but we didn't spend much time in the room. We always returned to a clean room. The view from the Rooftop Bar is absolutely beautiful. The restaurants look into the street/plaza in front of the hotel. The bus and trolleys stop walking distance from the hotel. There are always cabs waiting out front. The front desk staff was always willing to provide information on transportation and where to go. Some of the tours, trolley passes are available for purchase on site. The Doormen were just great and so helpful. You have to try Trolley 28! Make sure you keep you hands, arms, elbows and head inside at all times! We walked everywhere from the hotel, Rossio Train station, the Plaza, Metro, Elevator, etc..it was the perfect location.

Room Tip: avoid rooms near elevator. Request high floors front not facing inner courtyard.

A very good choice for staying central in Lisbon. The hotel had very good facilities with helpfull and servicemindet staf. Lovely breakfast as well and quit rooms. The lobby and the bars had a lot of space. The only thing to remark is that the lifts had too litle capasity. The hotel was a good choice for staying central and near the river/sea and shops and restaurantsareas.

The hotel located very near many restaurants and shopping streets, so it was perfect for our needs. The reception staff was very nice and friendly. We had a nice big room for 3 persons and we were satisfied since there were actual beds for everyone (not just a extra bed put into a tiny room). We even had two separate sinks in the bathroom. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only downside was that the beds felt quite hard at the first night, but we got used to it. The breakfast was good and fresh with a lot of options to eat. In the roof there was an excellent views in the open-bar. We arrived with taxi from the airport and the taxi driver asked as if this is the first time in Lisbon. We were stupid and answered "yes"; the fee was 24,50 euros. When we left home, taxi from the same hotel was only 9,70 euros.

Room Tip: rooms facing away from the main street are quieter. the lack of views didn't matter since the su...

Great hotel and great location. Never seen a hotel room as big as we had. From our window we could see the castle. Staff was very friendly. Huge variety at the breakfast table. Breakfast staff was kind. Close to a bus stop. We took an airport bus(aerobus) to get to the hotel from the airport. It was very cheap, 3.50 euros per person. Bed was very comfortable and had a good variety of tv channels, with loads of English channel.
We used the hop on- hop off busses therefore we could see that part of Lisbon what we wouldn`t have seen, because it was far away from the centre. You can see a very interesting buildings and street art if you take a purple line. All in all, wonderful city, great hotel, a lot to see. Weather was good considering it was middle-end of November. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Stayed: 22/November/2013-26/November/2013.

Room Tip: If you can, choose a room facing the castle. Beautiful at night time.

We stayed 1 night in June 2014. The location was very central; it is a large hotel and easy to find, near the station. The staff were very busy (especially in the brekfast rooms), but friendly and helpful.
We stayed in room 279 (we were advised to get a room at the top floor, for good views), close to the lift, but you could hear it only in the bathroom. The room was comfortable but with no tea kettle and no free WiFi.
The bathroom had a slightly unpleasant smell. Also, the water temperature in the shower changed suddenly from warm to dangerously hot, which made me jump from the shower - very dangerous! I reported it to Reception and they said they will look into this.
Overall, while comfortable, we expected to be more impressed by a 4* hotel.

Room Tip: It is nice to have room with the view (top floors), but not close to the lift.
