Hotel was in a great location. Breakfast was ok, good variety of food. We were on the highest floor and had an amazing view.

Room was not very clean. There was a huge dark stain on the side of the lower mattress. The AC did not work well. Do not pay for the wifi, it shuts down every 5 mins.

Do not buy the 24hr pass for the bus/train/tram/carris at the hotel. They wanted us to pay 9 euros for each pass. And we found them at "casa da sorte" at praça figueira for 6.50 euros. The clerk got upset when we told her we didn't want them. It's a tourist trap.

Booked via last minute.com as one of their Secret Hotels. Wow! did we hit the jackpot. A terrific hotel location for all the sites and transport connections.
One minor fault with a hair dryer was sorted while we were out siteseeing. Very polite helpful staff. Excellent choice available with the buffet breakfast. Clean rooms & facilities. Wifi was available free of charge in the spacious foyer areas & payable in the room, a small issue for some possibly.
We'd definately book at this place again if we return.

You can not go wrong by staying at this hotel. A bit worn down, but fully OK.

Quiet to be in a large city and a beautiful roof terrasse with great bar and view.

Only aprox 15 minutes to the airport off peak traffick.

Room Tip: Facing the back side is the most quiet if you do not prefer a room with a view.

This hotel is in the down town area of Lisbon and closed to the busy area of Lisbon. Closed to restaurants and clothing stores. The hotel is right in the middle of the busy area and closed to trolley 28 which will take you all over the area for about 3 euros. Withing walking distance of the bay. The rooms were small but clean and bathrooms were large and clean. A/C was cold. The staff is very nice and most speak English.

Well placed for walking the Alfama, Baixa and Bairro Alto districts, though having been there I would have rather stayed in one of a couple of other hotels even better placed, that looked nicer.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the buffet breakfast is very well provisioned, but the signature dish for a good Full-English, the bacon, was decidedly odd. It looked like bacon I suppose, but its taste and texture was more like I would imagine steamed ham would be. Still, plenty of places nearby do steak and eggs for breakfast, or second breakfast.
Our room, booked through British Airways on a cash-plus-avios deal, was the largest room on the floor according to the fire escape map. Plenty of room to shuck off the days baggage, and at our age, the welcome sight of two single beds. Beds were comfy, but to be honest after walking around Lisbon all day we could have slept on boulders. The bathroom looked nice enough, but there is a hidden gotcha - the shower temperature is very dependant on whether the room next door has just flushed the toilet, and a couple of times I had just started to rinse the delicates when it changed to scalding hot. Plenty of room near the loo to put your favourite book, and they are quite happy to change the towels every day even if you're there for a week as we were.
Ate in the breakfast restaurant for one evening meal, and it was nice even though they brought the wrong meal - the menu del dia instead of the a la carte meal I had ordered. Head waiter spotted it immediately and got it changed. The other restaurant is hugely overpriced for the sort of people staying in this hotel, and I never saw a single person eating there on our way up to the roof bar. Talking of which, they had a private function on for a couple of evenings, closing off half the floor space including the castle view and the part sheltered from the wind. We were there in June, and I would recommend you take a cardigan or light jacket to the roof bar, as the wind can be quite chilly. The view of Baixa and Bairro Alto is, of course, quite stunning.
The bar off reception is comfortable and reasonably priced, though drinks are cheaper out in the town just about everywhere.
To sumarise, we had a pleasant-enough time there, but having spied the area out I would stay somewhere different next time. There's a couple of nice hotels directly off Rossio, for example. The Mundial is not a 4*, more like 3*.

Room Tip: Room 633 appeared to be the largest room on the 6th floor. I would guess, since its a cookie-cutter...

Located in the centre, with easy access by metro, bus or tram(28), it has reasonable prices for what it has to offer. Breakfast is ok (not a lot of choices but all 'classics' are there), the vie is outstanding and the rooms in a very good condition. Definately, would go again!
