Owner description: Vintage trams take passengers on a scenic trip from the city center at sea level up through the narrow maze of streets towards St. George Castle.

The tram is the hype. You'll see and experience much more if you just walk it. Let yourself get lost in the maze of little streets. Don't worry, you won't be lost for long and you'll be far richer for the experience. You might be amazed at what you find :-)

Took you through a lot of the more historical parts of Lisbon. Good to appreciate the Portuguese style of parking where blocking a tramline seemed like acceptable behaviour. Got really busy and can see how pickpockets can thrive.

If you want to get to Se, Miradouro de Santa Luzia or Miradouro das Portas do Sol, you need to hop on the tram 28 (or tram 12). It is usually packed with turists (and some locals), and goes through the most beautiful places in Lisbon. The on-board ticket costs 2.85 Euro, but if you have a daily trip card (5 Euro), it is still valid. Have fun!

Good fun if you can get on it - gets very busy so best to get on at Estrela or Praca Luis de Camoes.

I was a bit worried about taking the tram due to all the warnings about pick-pockets. Luckily we survived unscathed as it wasn’t too crowded and we rode the old rickety tram which felt a bit more authentic. We caught the tram in the Barrio Alto and had a short ride until the end. We had to get off to get back on again but fortunately we had a seat and travelled all the way back again. It’s a nice, cheap to watch the world go by and see Lisbon, obviously better when seated. Do heed the warnings though!
