Located along the Tagus river it's a place with great views of the river, the bridge and the Cristo Rei ( small version of Christ the Redemeer,of Rio de Janeiro, built to bless the city of Lisbon ).There are a lot of small cafes, bars and restaurants ,some very good with inside and outside seating. It's a great place to be in a sunny, warm afternoon or a summernight. It becomes very animated at night especially during the summer.I strong recommend a visit.

Visited the Docas area last thursday and saturday with three friends. On thursday we dined at the first restaurant that one meerts called Santo. The food was average and bad value, the setting quite nice but the service was slow and our waiter was not welcoming or accommodating at all and even after we left him a tip he didnt offer a thank you or a goodbye. On Saturday we moved further along the walk way to the Irish bar, we had dinner, three beef burger meals and one beef medallian meal. All three were cold, the medallians were very tough and difficult to chew. After returing the meals to be reheated they came back luke warm. One diner could not eat his and the waitress/manager appoliogised and decucted the price from the bill. The docus area is worth just one look as it is a nice area but the "Barimoto " area in the old town is the place to be after 8pm for great food & drink at value prices.
