“Nice escape”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

Walking from the top of King Edward park you find Estufa fria on the right side of the down hill. The entrance is very cheap (3.1 euro) and you get to enter in a big greenhouse with cold (the main one), hot (tropical) and sweet (cactus and palmas) ambients.
Warmly suggested a visit to this place, as it's relaxing and nice to see and wander around being a big complex.
You don't need to be an expert of plant species to appreciate the beauty of nature.
I'd have liked anyway a map or some explanation of the different plants (paying of course, as the entrace price is very low).

“Special, magical place”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

Came across this lovely garden after a recent visit to the Gulbenkian Museum. This is a wonderful series of tropical gardens set in an almost subterranean location just behind Eduardo VII park. I don't know whether it was because it was a bit late on a Sunday afternoon but the place was very quiet and peaceful, a profusion of wonderful plants indoors and in the covered areas and a lovely outside park garden outdoors. Having visited the Famous Eden project earlier this summer and having paid approx €30 to get in, this place which is based on a similar idea( only in existence a whole lot longer) is an absolute bargain at €3.10!

“Green Oasis”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

At the top of the Parque Eduardo VII this beautiful set of greenhouses is a delight to visit on a hot day. The plants are fabulous and it has a wonderful calm and relaxing atmosphere. You can walk outside and sit by the lake and let the buzz of the city pass you by. And all for €3.10. A bargain!
