We visited the tower and have discovered a great additional new offering, which is Lisbon by Boat. They offer individual boat rides of 30 or 60 minutes on the Tejo. We took the 30 minute tour and went on a great Zodiac boat for up to 12 people, and we saw the tower from the seaside (great view), as well as the Tower the Belem and the big bridge from below (quite noisy when a train passes). Also great was the view to the Christo Rei. Make sure you ask him to show the high speed mode of the boat, it is great fun!

For me, this monument, more than any other, symbolizes the greatness of Portugal. Beside the impressive views from the top of the 52 meter high monument, the statues that decorate the sides show many of the most significant people in the history of Portugal. It’s a must see when you are in Lisbon. Can you name all the figures represented on the monument?

You really should see this monument if you are near Belem. Our guides took us here. The size is unbelievable. Its located on the waterfront, by the castle. The great pastry shop is close too. Enjoy the walkway along the water.

It's free, it's always open (since its located in an open space), it's beautiful and anyone can take pictures of it any time in the year.

It's near other Lisbon attractions so it's a place not to miss photographing.

This is such a beautiful monument. We were only in Lisbon for the day on a tour but so happy we got to see this. The views are amazing!
