the exhibition on Portugal and Goa is so well presented and there was information available in other languages as the exhibition tags are all in Portuguese. The staff were really nice it was a really cheap E3 to get in and there are also nice views from the top of the tower.

Really liked it but think they could display the names of the sailors represented in the monument somewhere visible, so we knew who were looking at.

Unique memorial, great square for kids to explore as well. My youngest was really intrigued how the men were placed on the memorial. We did not venture inside, we arrived later in the dat but for €3 it seems like a bargain

This is a very powerful monument dedicated to the brave Portuguese sailors that faced the seas in the "Age of Discovery" where they searched for new trade routes that revolutionized the World. It can be said that this "Age" is what separates the "Middle Ages" and the "Modern Era". It also allowed the global mapping of the world, resulting in a new world-view and distant civilizations acknowledging each other, reaching the most remote boundaries much later.
