Truly a signature place to represent the Portugese people. I enjoyed that the people celebrate their vision and foresight over 500 years. Truly visionary and worth celebrating.

A nice monument with good artistry. The location provides a good view point for the Christo Rei and the 25 de Abril Bridge. It's also very close to the Belem Tower and Jeronimos Monastery. It's worth stopping in if you are in the neighborhood for the other sights.

There isn't much about this monument other than the height and the breathtaking 360 degree view that it offers. Good thing there is a lift but you can always opt for the stairs. However, unless you want to spend a few minutes in its concrete confines alongside 15 other people just for the view and the fresh wind, you may just pass.

If you are visiting Belém, the monument of Discovery is a must see. However, there is not much around it to see and really the only thing you can do is going up the monument for a nice view. Since you've got a nice view from many places in Lisbon, I suggest you just walk around it and enjoy the monument.

This is a statuesque monument with very nice scluptures. Overlooking the river, making for a nice relaxing stroll. The trip to the top is also worthwhile. Beautiful views. We visited while on the hop on hop off bus.
