The visit to this magnificent church was enhanced by the fact there was a concert in the Church the night we visited. magnificent! Go and see it anyway, concert or no concert.

If you see only one church in Lisbon, this is the one. Also visit the museum next door but check for open hours as these places are often closed.

Take the funicular up enjoy the trip and then the church which really is ornate and beautiful. Turn left outside the church walk down the steps and take the next left down more steps. There are good handrails as you meander down passing right through terrace restaurants. You will come to a great view across Lisbon to a view of the Castle. Great spot to stop and stare.
A nice little trip for an hour or so. Coffee or a drink anywhere when you get down.
