Owner description: LISBON ZOO – GO AROUND THE WORLD IN JUST ONE DAY At Lisbon Zoo, we invite you to travel around the world without leaving Lisbon. Find the Sumatran Tigers in the dense vegetation of the Rainforest, observe lions, giraffes and elephants behaviour at the dry African Savannah and dazzle with the majestic flight of the colourful birds of South America. Our mission is to develop and promote a zoological and botanical park, as a centre of conservation, reproduction and reintroduction of endangered species, through scientific investigation and environmental enrichment programs. Along with education is a strong entertainment component that will ensure a great family time, always with the conviction that when visiting Lisbon Zoo you’re contributing to this great project of conservations of endangered species and their habitats.

A good family day out - good selection of animals in enclosures that were much better than I had expected. We spent a full day there and found it really enjoyable. Dolphin show was the highlight for my kids, with the cable cars that take you over the whole zoo a close second.

Just explore this Zoo. You will not be dissapionted. Previously we went to the oceanica (#1 attraction in Lisbon), and it was dull to say the least, but this zoo was FUN ( and had the same animals as oceanica).

I'll tell u why: You get so physically close to the animals that you can practicly touch them. Staring eye too eye with a great tiger takes the hole experience too a new level. They even let the baby monkeys roam freely from their cages so they can interact with the visitors (@ your own risk).

Don't be a square, try this zoo if you have the chance!

A very lovely zoo. A great entertainment for children and parents too. The price of the tickets is a little bit high but probably maintaining the zoo it costs a lot.

Not at all a big fan of zoos but this one is the best i've been to for a long time. The zoo is set in a mature area just outside the city centre (good access by bus or metro) with lots of shade provided by the well tended gardens and trees. The thing that strikes you is how close you can get to the animals even though they have large areas to roam. The zoo is divided into sections and it is easy to navigate through. We only intended to stay for a couple of hours but ended up staying all day - you can re-enter the zoo at any time during the day. We definitely had our monies worth - yes it is quite expensive - but that reflects the quality of this attraction.

a little expensive for half a day but it was enjoyable. I liked the monkeys and the cable car. there were few crowds on this weekday. the shows were in Portuguese so we mostly looked at the animals. also took the train ride which costs an extra Euro for some reason though it's not as good as the tram. it's easy to get here on the metro.
