This temple has many important features. It was where the famous tryptic of Nuno Gonçalves (now at the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga) were discovered. If some concert is going to take place there, the acoustics are very good.

Every time I visited Feira da Ladra (Thieves' Market) I used to get curious about visiting this monastery nearby. I'm so happy that I finally visited it because even though it's impressive from the outside, the richness of its interiors surprised me. It has old tiles that show some scenes of the History of Portugal (such as the taking of Lisbon from the Moors). There are also religious articles that belonged to former portuguese cardinals (rings and other VERY valuable and impressive things). You can also find here the history behind the construction of sanctuary of Christ the King, on the other side of the river Tejo (Tagus).
"Mosteiro e Igreja de São Vicente de Fora" has also temporary exhibitions such as sea shells (some VERY small!!!) and tiles with fables from La Fontaine.
The church isn't anything special. Lisbon has more beautiful ones, but for the whole Monastery I wouldn't miss this place. And the ticket is so cheap!
The Panteon of Bragança's dinasty (the last one, that ended in 1910) is inside.
Oh, and the view from the top is... TOP! Even if you don't care about religious stuff, you'll be amazed by the view.
The reason I don't rate this 5/5 is because the place inside is not very well organized, so you feel like inside a maze and don't know what to visit next. But with some sense of orientation you get over it :)

Easily accessible by Tram 28 the church is well preserved and awe inspiring. After viewing the church be sure to visit the Cloisters next door.A trip to the bell tower gives a magnificent city view

The view from Sao Vicente is really cool from the top of the church. but make sure you go see the la fontaine fables/parables done in blue portuguese tiles. i found it really cool (the tiles part). the church is fine, but the 2 things to really see are the la fontaine fables and the view from the top.
