We booked a triple room with private bathroom and i have to say that for the price we got a good accommodation but the best value was the location, facing rossio, metro and bus station just in front of the hostel and the main attractions at walkable distance, except belem of course. keep in mind that you're joining an hostel, so basic accommodation but great and easy welcome, and a little smell on the room. don't choice it if hate stairs: the hostel is at 4th or 5th floor without elevator, but as all lisbon is.

We stayed in different small hotels in the centre of Lisbon on our holiday, they both had very small rooms and were quite hot at night. This Pension was quite OK and the staff were friendly and helpful but the room was really small and had the bathroom behind a kind of glass partition - rather than a separate room. It was OK just for one night but I wouldn't want to stay there for longer.

Very friendly staff, however the 'room' was like a cuppboard, right next to a loud banging door. I could hear everyone walking in and out and could not sleep at all. The room was very hot.
The reception staff were very friendly and nice, I can't fault them. The rooms were a good price too.

I stayed in Santo Tirso from 21 to 26h June, must say that is very good small, little hotel and location is excellent!
I booked a single room for 35Eur per day about a month in advance, however I got a double bed when I arrived, which is even better. My room was across the reception, and even though I was afraid it would be loud, no, receptionists were very quite, and the guests as well.
As I can see according to different opinions of the hotel, everyone has different expectations for the price it paid. And not all of these expectations are met.
Well, mine were, I expected clean room, with private bathroom, in the hotel in the city center close to the metro, bus and tram, and that is exactly what I got.
Yes, when you entering the building where the pension is located, first you see a dirty entrance with green dust bins, but then you climb upstairs and reach the pension.
The room was small,, but I do not need luxury, just a place to sleep over after the whole day of sightseeing. Yes, when you have a shower it is not divided from a toilet seat and the water splashes all over, but did not see a problem in that, there is a towel to dry it. However, depending on what do you look for...for me, value for the money, definitely.

Room Tip: Just a tip, when arriving from the airport, by taxi or bus, it is easier to first locate famous cafe...

Fantastic little hotel which is cheap and situated slap bang in the centre of Lisbon within walking distance of the metro, train station, shopping and bairro alto which is the main restaurant/bar area. The staff which altho speak limited English are very friendly and take an interest in your stay and try to help you out in any way they can.

A tatty entrance next to the smart Cafe Nicola on Lisbon's main square leads to well-worn, steep steps up to this 3rd floor pension (there's no lift). Room was no-frills but comfy enough for the money. Even so, the en-suite was simply a segregated corner of the room, with the most basic shower & toilet. The room was noisy - we could hear traffic from the square (despite not overlooking it), construction noise from downtown each morning at 7am and we could hear everything from reception through our door. On a positive note, staff were very friendly (with just enough English to be understood) and the manager very helpful. The room was cleaned and fresh towels provided daily. The central location meant the main sights and transport routes were right on our doorstep.
