It's not the first time I stay a this PENSAO!!! The staff is always friendly and smiling ... very helpful too!!! Always clean, close to everything (restos, boutiques, tourist sites, subway, etc).
Honnestly, ratio price/place is amazing ... once there you can walk pretty much to everything if you wish or take the bus/subway. I strongly recommended it ... for couples or families.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the alley might be a bit quieter but ... it's never too much and it's nice to h...

I stayed in the Pensao for 4 nights in February 2011. Great location in a quiet area, but very close to the tourist sites. Very friendly and helpfull staff, we had some funny chats. Comfortable and clean rooms, all with private bathroom. Good restaurants are just around the corner.

...and don't forget to bring you running shoes, if you chat with the staff you know what I mean ;-))

In October I stayed 7 nights in this hotel.I had a very comfortable, clean room with a good size bathroom and balcony. It was quiet at night, by late evening when the throng of restaurant patrons nearby had subsided. You will have access to a wonderful variety of eateries nearby. The location, in the Baixa region, can't be beaten. You are within walking distance of all the major roads, metro, buses, tram elevators and tourist sites. The family running the hotel are couteous, friendy and helpful- I had a problem with my suitcase and very promptly the 'mechanic' arrived to help. They also do your laundry at a reasonable price. Breakfast was basic but sufficient. You need to leave room for the gourmet delights that await you as you roam. For price, location, staff this hotel is perfect. There is an interesting, old, stately building opposite which intruiged me- appears to once have been someone's grand home- I never did find out but it captured my imagination as I gazed at it across from my room.

We recently stayed at this hotel during our last night in Lisbon (we had driven down from Porto that day and were leaving for the airport the next day), When booking this hotel, we were looking for something within walking distance to the AVIS car rental office where we were dropping off our car. This little hotel was perfect, we were a block and a half from the car rental place and could walk over. In addition, it was right on the METRO line. The hotel rooms were not fancy but very clean and had a great little porch where one could sit and feel like they were not closed in. The neighborhood was somewhat residential but still had some nice restaurants and shops around. The price (which was reasonable) included breakfast - however, we left for the airport too early to take advantage of such.

The family-run hotel has an excellent trustworthy service concerning reservation, security, informations and support during your stay in Lisbon.
It is perfectly located for any kind of travel-purpose: Centrally located in a calm side-street of Avenida da Liberdade in Cidade Baixa, the main area and business district of the historical Lisbon, you can discover all most-seen tourist-highlights of Lisbon by foot during the day - for farer sites to visit the location is directly linked to central points for public transport (Rossio train station; metrostation Praca dos Restauradores; busses; electric tram 10 min.). Discovering Lisbon by night is easy, too: A lot of restaurants are in the same street of the hotel, Bairro Alto is accessible within 10 min. by walk.
All rooms of the hotel are recently renovated in a clear and estethic style, all with private bathroom. Breakfast is served in form of a small buffett - messured on portuguese style - but with good quality and excellent coffee.
A very recommandable place to enjoy your stay in Lisbon, either if you are travelling alone, as a couple, for private or for business reason.

Room Tip: Take the Aerobus from the airport for 3-4 Euro, take the stop at Praca dos Restauradores, then you r...

We booked this hotel based on TA reviews. Enjoyed our three-night stay. Our room was very clean and basic. Bed and pillows were firm. Besides towels, amenities were 2 bars of soap and one glass ("for toothbrushes"). Hard Rock Cafe is around the corner and we arrived just in time for a concert and festival on Av. da Liberdade. Although the sounds were not a problem, we could shut the windows and would hear nothing. The gentlemen at the reception desk were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Hotel is located at the start of Restaurant Row where we found great seafood .. and escargot! Took the Aerobus to area, but would strongly suggest taking a taxi; they are more than reasonable. Someone lifted a Kindle from our backpack .. somewhere between the bus stop and the hotel. Watch for pickpockets!

Room Tip: We were in Room 307 and faced a back alley and backs of other buildings. Next time we'd request...

If you want a good hotel, that sits in the right location, then Pensao Portuense, is as good as it gets. The accommodation is clean and well maintained, with friendly and approachable staff. The breakfast is not the best we have had, but, if you want to see Lisbon, miss it and get out and about early, Lisbon waking up is great and there are plenty of small cafes that will provide you with breakfast. So staying at PRP, was a pleasurable, and affordable experience, its situated, in just the right place and ticks all the right boxes for a budget hotel. I just wish Lisbon would get rid of the graffiti and the drug pushers (PS. these are not a threat, just a nuisance)

Room Tip: Although the front street is pretty quiet, the back rooms will provide you with a silent stay, but w...
