“Great Quirky Hotel & Perfect location!”
Reviewed December 3, 2013

Good value right on Rossio Square! Near both major train stations and the metro make exploring the city and day trips a breeze. Most of the rooms are small though, so if that's a factor be sure to book a larger room. The restaurant is not fully open yet so only tapas and deserts along with a decent wine and drink offering. Most NOT included in the "welcome drink" selection though. Next door to the best candy shop in town too, if that's your thing. Beware the numerous coke vendors on the central district streets in the evenings. Generally harmless as long as you're ready with a firm no. Don't know how safe if you answer otherwise.

This is honestly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. It was a refreshing change to the usual formula of business hotels and offered a unique atmosphere in a very central location. Every floor is individually themed and the attention to detail is wonderful... the owners clearly have a passion for art/design and this comes across throughout the hotel. Finally, the service on reception couldn't have been better... the staff were very friendly and helpful and recommended a number of excellent restaurants/bars. I would highly recommend the 'Onda Jazz Club' in Alfama if you want an alternative to the live fado music evenings...

I can't say enough about this hotel. Modern, funky design inside a gorgeous old world façade. We were in the pop concept. A beautiful (large) room with 3 Juliette balconies overlooking Rossio Square. Walking distance to many things including great restaurants and beautiful tourist attractions! The staff were phenomenal and could not do enough to help us with anything and everything we needed. The breakfast was AMAZING with windows surrounding offering a wonderful introduction to your day. As with other reviewers I almost didn't want to review as it will just add to the popularity and lessen the availability but I just had to as this place is such an absolute gem and needs it's recognition. We only stayed for 1 night November 14-15 as we were heading out on a tour of North Western Portugal but we were more than a little sad to leave. The welcome drink is the icing on the cake. I recommend the Urban drink. Delish! As a Travel Agent I am torn between sharing this with my clients and friends or saving those rooms for myself, but alas, they deserve every compliment and referral they get. Obrigado IDH, I will be back.

I hesitated even listing a review of this hotel because the more popular it gets, the less rooms available for us! But I couldn't keep it a secret... this hotel is exceptional. The staff is attentive and they couldn't possibly be nicer. They took us on a tour of the hotel and the bar area and offered us a welcome drink while our bags were being delivered to the room. The hotel itself is impeccably clean. It has an edgy design flair without making it unwelcoming. The room we stayed in overlooked the square. The view is magnificent. It is within easy walking distance of everything (right around the corner from the train station). The beds are so comfortable that, barring airline weight limits, I would have strapped my mattress to my back and called it a carry-on. The breakfast room which doubles as a bar is completely surrounded by windows which affords the magnificent view from this room as well. All I have to say is.. DON'T GO.. leave the room for us! ;D

Tucked in the middle of two wonderful squares in Lisbon, hardly noticeable from the outside, one finds this warm, welcoming and comfortable hotel. This made the touring just great - near buses, trains and all the shopping you would want. We walked as much as possible because there was so much to see. I guess the reason I loved the hotel so much is that the staff - all the staff - was warm and considerate. There wasn't a thing they left out to make one's stay a memorable one. They always had great directions, very good suggestions for dining and touring. Talk about "courteous and accommodating"! They were so pleasant and willing to do anything for you. Make sure you get the breakfast package with your stay. The breakfast was wonderful - again, the staff helped make a wonderful breakfast buffet a treasure to enjoy. The room was always cleaned on time and really cleaned! If I return to Lisbon - guess where I will stay! ! !

Room Tip: Some of the rooms are small so make sure you ask for a larger one unless you do not mind small. We...

Top location, excellent hotel, brilliant breakfast.
Two nights in hotel, staff couldn't be more helpful. Everything on the doorstep. Each floor is themed, modern and arty - really interesting. All detail carefully managed, very good.
Recommend breakfast, fantastic quality and good choices, and room light spacious, lovely atmosphere. We had a drink there on evening too, so it doubles as a bar, clever.

Stayed for a week at the Internacional Design Hotel in early November. The wonderful staff and the location really make it a standout. All the staff members were friendly, professional and went out of their way to be helpful. We arrived without our luggage, which didn't make it onto our flight, and the front desk staff right away took charge to call the claim center repeatedly on our behalf and to link us with the airline baggage dept. The hotel is centrally located and convenient to all transportation. Located on two main squares, with the Metro, train station to Sintra, trams to Belem, all right there. Walking distance to sights, shops, etc. Our room (Cocoon room number 212, in the "Tribe" motif) was small but nicely appointed, spotlessly clean, and quiet. The bed was large and comfortable and the pillows were luxurious. The bathroom had a full tub with shower. Our window overlooked a pedestrian street and pastry shop. There is a computer with internet access available. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone wishing to visit Lisbon.

Room Tip: We requested a room in the Tribe or Zen motif.
