The location is extremely convenient for shopping and restaurants. The staff was very accommodating. Our room had an extra sitting room which was perfect for our baby to sleep. I definitely recommend this hotel for your stay!

Room Tip: It was extremely hot when we were there. Make sure you get a room with the ac unit in the same room...

I choose this hotel because of the positive trip advisor reviews AND the price (about €80 per night) and was not disappointed. Once you adjust to the particular style at receptions in Portugal - they do not multi-task - so you patiently wait your turn and will only be greeted at this point. This seems to be cultural as it happened everywhere we travelled. On the plus side, you can expect their COMPLETE attention for as long as you need when it is your turn.
We didn't particularly like our first room on the 6th floor at the back so asked to change and got a really great room on the 4th floor with wooden floors at the front of the building - great views, good sound proofing, plenty of space, comfy beds.
The staff were very friendly and overall it was a very good experience - to be recommended. Lisbon is a really great city to visit so I will be back.

Room Tip: rooms at the front have good views - not the 6th floor as it has carpets, the rest of the rooms have...

Excellent central location. The hotel is excellent quality for the price with very helpful staff. Good buffet breakfast. We stayed in Room 108 which was a nightmare, very cramped with less than a foot between the end of the bed and the wall so to access the window you have to do a crab pincer movement to it and if your over six foot like the hubbie suffer concussion hitting your head on the wall mounted tv.

what can be frustrating is running the gauntlet of waiters on the street trying to gain your custom.... this is easy remedied by turning left out of the hotel walking through the side street exiting on to Restauradores which will bring you out on Rossio.

Expect to be approached by drug sellers but this isn't a huge problem as they are not pushy or particularly invasive a 'no thank you' and they move on - but don't let this put you off.

Room Tip: If in Room 108 I'd be asking for an alternative

We arrived in Lisbon after a 6 week bicycle trip, having stayed in a different hotel every night and this was by far one of the best. We had pre-booked due to the big festival, so we were somewhat apprehensive, having never viewed the facility. Not to worry. It was amazing. The staff were so incredibly helpful with everything from taxis to recommended restaurants to the history of the building. The building has been immaculately refurbished so everything is modern and tastefully decorated. Our room on the 5th floor overlooking the street was beautiful. Despite all the activity in the street below the soundproofing allowed us to get a really good night's sleep. The breakfast buffet was, by far, the best that we had experienced.

But most of all, the best feature of this hotel is its location. It is very central, close to all the action, busses, train, metro, etc. You can walk to everything. And yet it only cost 14 Euros for a taxi to the airport!

DON'T STAY ANYWHERE ELSE!

ps. don't eat at on of the "tourist" restaurants on the street. Ask the front desk for directions to
A Provinciana, a local place less than 3 blocks away. It is true "local" cuisine, witness the mostly local clientele. And don't be put off by the crowd nor the chaos. If you go inside, they'll find a seat for you somehow. Great eclectic experience, great food and CHEAP!

We spent a week at this very centrally located hotel (close to Restauradores metro stn). We asked for a quiet room in the back as the street can be noisy at night (many restaurants, good-natured touts). Fairly old building with elevator and staircase going up to the fourth floor; old-style tiles in the hallways were a nice touch. Friendly and helpful staff at Reception that speaks English well; friendly staff of the large buffet-style breakfast room seems to speak little English. Lay-out of all floors is like a maze: upon getting to your hotel room floor, you can turn right or left - you'll always end up finding your room. Our room (108), which was at the end of a very narrow hallway (barely wider than a suitcase) giving entry to 4 hotel rooms, proved to be quiet but cramped: the floorspace at the foot-end of the bed is very narrow; there was little space to put 2 suitcases. The mattress on the bed was not that comfortable; also, small thin pillows and no duvet but old-fashioned sheets and a blanket. The bathroom was quite clean but fairly small; make sure to put your towel near the bathtub before having a shower as you make take a fall when trying to grab it from the towel rack that's been put up in the wrong place (you'll have to reach around a glass partition that more or less keeps the water from getting to the floor when in the shower); both plumbing (toilet + wash basin) as well as ventilator were very noisy; hairdryer is included. Quiet AC /heater fixed to higher end of the wall. Small TV attached high up to the wall in a corner; very small table, 1 basic wooden chair; no coffee/tea making facilities, so bring a device of your own if need be. Built-in closet with coat hangers that can't be used anywhere else but there (the lower wooden part needs to be fitted into a metal piece that's attached on a rod), so bring some of your own if you need to do some laundry. Bay window has a metal grille to prevent intruders from coming in (convenient for putting up some of that laundry provided it's not raining, but may also be a fire hazard). Fortunately, some large potted plants just outside our bay window gave us something nice to look at from the inside. All in all: quite basic and clean, and fine for just a week. Some pictures on the internet show romantic-looking rooms; room 108 lacked romance but fortunately was quiet.
