I stayed at the Mercure for business and having tried other hotels on the same street during other business trips, I don't think I'd ever return to Mercure. However, it was a less expensive option, and I definitely got the type of stay that went with the price. The good: knowledgeable staff, tasty but limited food options (restaurant & room service), modern decor in the lobby. The bad: wifi was impossible to use, construction noises at all hours - morning and night, walls so thin you can hear your neighbours speaking - such a noisy hotel, crazy loud people in the hallways, I could hear every single thing. I definitely appreciated: relatively comfortable beds, good TV channel options, quick laundry service.

The hotel was very clean and nice but the bed was too small for 2 and they should not use the plastic water glass for drinking!!!

Services was no problem anything and quite friendly but internet was too slow...

Location was a bit difficult to move around but it not to far from subways and train but it very useful if you wanna go to Sintra because there was train station to go to Sintra also.

Overview that was OK for trip for us.

Stayed in this hotel on a four-night leisure trip to Lisbon. The hotel is located in the financial district of the city and, therefore, some distance from the city centre and main attractions. However, it is only a 10 minute walk to the nearest metro station and is well served by bus routes, including the airport bus service (Aerobus) which stops about 50 metres from the hotel.

As is to be expected from a Mercure, the hotel is predominantly for business travellers. However, it is also a good choice for a leisure break. The room was very clean, bring and reasonably spacious with a very good bathroom. There was a good choice of English (and other) language channels. The room has the usual services such as air-con, mini-bar and room safe. The rooms are completely soundproofed and the bed is very comfortable.

Breakfast is good and includes freshly squeezed orange juice (a nice surprise), a limited but reasonable selection of hot foods, a selection of breads and pastries, as well as the usual cheese, cold meats, cereals and yoghurts, etc. Dinner is not great but perfectly acceptable if you arrive late and don't want to go to the city centre for a better restaurant. There is also a bar but it is only suitable for a coffee or a nightcap.

Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised with this hotel and would definitely recommend it to others for either business or leisure.

All staff members were pleasant and helpful.

Having stayed at the Novatel 400m further along the street on the same trip the contrast between each hotels 2 target markets was very obvious. The Novatel was heaving with kids and the Mercure might have had none, Oher than that they very similar. The Mercure pool area on roof would probably be better, not just because it would not have the kids, but it would be less shaded later on in the afternoon.

If you have young kids the Novatel shades but if older teenagers then the Mercure probably shades. Both were good, and both not to expensive. You can eat out locally 3 good restaurants on same street, a Brazilian meat , an italian , and a top class vegetarian. Metro about 300m away.
