“Lovely hotel with a great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2012

I was pleasantly surprised by the elegance of this hotel. I recently stayed there while attending a wedding in Lisbon. The wedding hosts had booked a block of rooms here for their guests. Even without the negotiated package, I would have considered this hotel rate a steal for a major European city. The rooms were extremely comfortable, the staff more than helpful. The reservation manager was very flexible with my changing schedule. The location was near a metro stop, but much of Lisbon can easily be seen on foot from the hotel. I was too busy with wedding events and sightseeing to try any of the other amenities in the hotel. Breakfast was included, and my only complaint was that it was exactly the same buffet every day, which got tiresome after several days. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel.

This is not a kind of hotel for just a city break, it's really a nice place to indulge yourself. Room is very comfortable and spacious with a beautiful bathroom and amazing view of the whole city. The location is excellent; you can walk through the park to the metro station and it's only two metro stops from the city centre. I also recommend using taxi since it's very cheap and everything is only 5- 10 minutes drive away. Walking along the avenue to the center of the town is also amazing. The whole experience of visiting Lisbon is really unique. People are friendly, food is delicious and the city is a story of its own. And it's there for you to discover.

The Tiara Park Atlantic Hotel is your typical business-class hotel, a la Marriott or Hyatt or Hilton. The Portuguese economic minister was in the lobby as we arrived, and TV news cameras were in tow. The lobby always seems to be busy, and signage for various corporate meetings is everywhere. However, once upstairs, the rooms are very spacious, well appointed, clean and welcoming. We stayed in a king sized room with Nespresso coffee maker with what appeared to be a corner window. However, every window at the Tiara seems to have a corner view because of its architecture. The reflections from the L-shaped array of windows made it difficult to get nice daytime photos of the great view toward the Placa de Marquis Pombal. The hotel is very convenient to the Metro, although it's a killer uphill walk back to the hotel (downhill to the Metro). The distance does not justify a taxi, though. One negative comment about the concierge. The New York Times gave a glowing review last month for the restaurants by an up and coming Lisbon chef, Jose Avillez. His upscale restaurant, Belcanto, was listed as one of "four must's" for dining in Lisbon by the respected food writer Frank Bruni. The concierge was hesitant when we requested assistance with a reservation. He seemed to be operating on old information. Belcanto was a superb experience. While Avillez was on vacation, we were invited to the kitchen once the staff recognized us as foodies from the land of Alice Waters, Gary Danko, Michael Mina, Roland Passot, Nancy Oakes and Thomas Keller.

I stayed at Tiara Park for 4 nights. Upon an early morning arrival, I was told that there were no rooms available, please come back after 1pm. I understand this, since the hotel was fully booked, so no complaints there. Sure enough, at 1pm I received a key to a very stylish and comfortable room, with a lavish bathroom as well.

The staff service was very kind and with a sense of manners & style, so I was very pleased with this. The hotel bar, decorated much like an old british colonial gentlemen's club somewhere in South-East Asia (if only the doorway to the hotel lobby would be closed & panelled with wood as well, then the illusion would be perfect!) was an absolute delight, serving many local specialities in terms of drinks, as well as very nice international food items to enjoy in a peaceful atmosphere.

There are many excellent supermarkets and shopping malls within 10min walking distance of the hotel, and the downtown/old city can be reached in 30 min walking. Coming back you do notice that it is all the way an uphill walk..so be prepared to return by taxi (I found portugese taxis most honest & reliable in all of the mediterranean region, not one single problem or attempt to fiddle with prices).

Tiara park would be perfect, if there was a spa/pool in the same building. All in all, it is a luxurious & stylish hotel well worth considering when staying in Lisbon.

Seeing Lisboa without xmas lights was offset by great atmosphere and service in the hotel. Not in the heart of old city, but close enough even by walking. Room was extremely clean and staff very friendly.

Stayed at Tiara Park Atlantic for my 30. birthday (3 nights), everything was fantastic! The room (executive room) was big, very clean and had a great look on the park, city and Tejo river. Service was extremely friendly, i even got a complimentary cake and bottle of Champagne for my birthday! Bus and metro areclose to the hotel and you can also walk to the river (aprox. 30 min.) Would definetely stay at this Hotel again.

My husband and I stayed at the Tiara Park Atlantic in Lisbon as part of a Uniworld "Lisbon and the beautiful Douro Valley" river cruise. Our stay was for three nights prior to travelling to Porto to join the river cruise.
We found the hotel to be everything we could have wished for - excellent food, friendly, attentive staff and luxuriously appointed throughout.

Room Tip: If possible, request a room which overlooks the park opposite the hotel.
