Situated 3/4 of the way up the main Avenida in Lisbon, this Hotel is clean friendly and well situated for exploring Lisbon. Taxi from the airport cost 20 euros, and was probably the best way to get there quickly and easily. But then we found that if you walk down the Avenida to the Tourist information centre, but then cross over the road to a little green kiosk, (closed on Sundays) you can buy travel cards at 6 euros a day that give you unlimited tram, bus and metro travel, these take you quickly back to the airport at the end of your stay.
The Hotel also has a small Bistro downstairs but they have a very limited menu on Saturday and Sunday night so eat out. The Buffet breakfast in the mornings was excellent but I recommend taking your own tea-bags if you like decent tea, and they happily supply a small tea-pot with hot water.
Plenty of restaurants nearby including a supermarket just across the street.
Unusually apparently for the time of year(January) we had a lot of rain, take your umbrellas.More
