“Beautiful hotel with fantastic service”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

My husband and I stayed at the Lisbon Marriott for three nights before embarking on a Mediterranean cruise. All of the staff were friendly, spoke English, and couldn't do enough to provide wonderful service. The head concierge went out of his way to make sure our day tour of Sintra went as planned. The extensive delicious buffet breakfast was included in our room rate. We also had a fabulous dinner one evening in the hotel's restaurant. Be sure to sample the local wines. Can't wait to go back and stay here again.

I'm a Marriott Platinum and have stayed at a good number of Marriot properties. This is by far the worst. The service here is very sub-par. The wait for checkin was approximately 15 minutes (which is a long time after a long flight), and there was no line for elites. The wait just to call the operator from the room was 20 minutes (no kidding), I tried five times, hung up after a few minutes on the first four, and waited 20 minutes on the fifth time. The room smelled of urine and had other strange odors. The property appearance is worn, but it's not terrible. The appearance qualifies for a 3-4 star hotel, but the service would drive it to a 2-3 star. The executive lounge is fair, but not better than other properties. The pool was dirty, unheated, and unswimmable. Looked like a rundown motel pool. No one was in it or around it. Marriott should be ashamed of this property, but I guess it's not.

Room Tip: Best tip would be not to stay here.

I stayed in this hotel on a business trip two days ago. It is a standard chain hotel experience. The rooms are ok, could be a little bit tidier cleaned at places and some of the furniture seems a little bit worn down. i alwys like the beds in the American hotels. Everything was as expected from a large chain hotel like this, though.

Stayed here with work recently, great and convenient for getting to both the town centre and airport, rooms very nice with balcony! Nice staff and great pool. Would definitely stay here again!

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in!

We have stayed in a number of Marriott Hotels through out North America, so this was our first in Europe. It puts the others to shame. Just can't say enough about the staff in addition to the hotel it self. Even though it is in the middle of Lisbon, it emits a very peaceful aura. The Restaurant by the outside terrace and pool was excellent. Most of the staff speaks English, and are so very helpful. They truly want you to enjoy and embrace their lovely city. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

The Lisbon Marriott is a modern structure about mid-way between the airport and down-town. The area doesn't have much to offer visitors but it's a fairly good compromise for business travellers, and taxis or the Metro can be used to go into town. The staff are absolutely excellent - friendly, polite and helpful - to an extent I have never experienced before in Portugal. The rooms are modern and pleasant - typical of the Marriott business style. The bed was extremeley omfortable. The double (triple?) glazing is remarkably effective as soundproofing - necessary because the hotel is close to the airport approach flightpath, and surrounded by busy roads. The choice of TV channels is very limited, though. Breakfast was good, with a wide choice of hot and cold food, although the fruit juices were very disappointing (made from powder - nothing fresh).

Well when i read the reviews i like to see the bad reviews.i red some of them and was quite afraid.if this hotel was good for obama it is probably good for others.the hotel is not cheap and a little bit far from the center, but if you have a luxary car probably you have money for fuel .5-6euro each direction won't do it.the staff is nice and polite the rooms are very clean the personal is "rubbing" all the time everything so that i would conclude i stayed here 5nights for buisness an pleasure and if i return i wouldn't hasitate to be in this hotel again
