My boyfriend and I were in Portugal for 10 days and stayed in 3 different hotels. This place is by FAR the WORST hotel we stayed at despite the 5 stars rating displayed outside it's entrance. We'll never return here and will caution everyone we know (or don't know) against staying here, for the following reasons:

Room: standard Sheraton furniture/set up which was ok. However, the floors were not clean properly. When we arrived, there were bits of crumbs and dust all over the floor, especially towards the side of the entry way. It seem the house keeper just sweep the dirt to the side but never bothered to actually put it into a dustbin and dispose it. If it wasn't for the bed that was made, I would have thought that housekeeping never came between when the last person who checked out and when we checked in. The dirty floor remained the whole time we were there though house keeper came every day.

Blinds/curtain in the room: to be fair, this is not the fault of the hotel staff but the people who designed the hotel... The way that the hotel curtains are designed, there is 1 sheer curtain and then a black out electric screen that you bring down to make the room pitch black. This is great if you want to create night during the day to sleep, but it's a pain if you want some natural lights during the day because the building next door can see directly into the room with just the sheer curtain so there's no privacy at all. And if we bring the blind down, it's so dark that you can't even see your own fingers! Just something to think about.

Service: we arrived late the first night and decided to stay in for dinner. The maitre d' of the Panorama hotel was not friendly at all. He didn't acknowledge our presence when we stood right in front of him. Since the bartenders at the Panorama bar appeared more friendly, we decided on a casual meal at the bar instead. The food was ok. I do highly recommend the tuna tapas dish. In fact, it was so good that we reordered it after our first round. Bartenders are a bit forgetful though, we had to ask for the same thing a few times. Also, when we tried to leave, we had to wait a while to get our bill even though there were 3 waiters/bartenders standing around together doing nothing.

The front desk staffs are horrible. First, the concierge was not helpful. We wanted recommendations for a place for pre-dinner drinks. He said he didn't know any place and drew a big circle on our map and said maybe around here. So much for trying to get a local recommendation! Check out was the worst part though. The staff was beyond rude. First she gave me attitude for asking if she could post some stamped postcards and told me I should ask the concierge. Since he was standing behind her across a table, I asked if she could call him and let him know. Instead she took my postcards and slide them across the table in silence. When I asked her if he's going to know to post them, she aggressively put up her hand and said, with attitude, "don't worry ok?" In the middle of check out, a woman walked up to the staff checking us out and started talking to her. Rather than telling her to wait, the staff just pretended that we weren't there and kept chatting. When the bill was printed, she handed it me without a word, expecting me to sign it. After I handed the signed copy back to her, she handed me a copy and again, didn't say anything. I waited a minute before asking if there's anything else she need. To which she replied "you can go" in a rude and dismissive tone. Honestly, it was the worst check out experience ever! (hotel management, in case you are reading this post and want to give your staff some feedback, her user id is ISABPRI as the bill)

Location: not in the city center, though a cab there is only 5-7 euros. There's a subway right around the block from the hotel. Getting to the touristy area will require a transfer.

Overall, though this hotel looks decent, it's dirty room and horrible staffs deserve less than 1 star. If you are thinking about staying here, do yourself a favor and pick another place instead.

Room Tip: Some of the room are right next to the building next door. With the blind/curtain systems they have, there's no privacy unless you bring down the blind to make a pitch dark room. As for a room not facing the building instead.

I like this Sheraton hotel. This my third stay here and did not disappoint me.
It´s in an average position, not in the city center but a 10 min walk from the subway.
Rooms are modern, nicely furnished. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent, rich variety of food and drinks. From the upper floor you have a nice view of the city.
My husband got a massage at the spa. Not cheap..but worth the money.
Next trip in Lisboa will be the sheraton again, for sure

We had a very good room (205) which was ideal for my husband who has mobility problems. We found the staff extremely friendly and helpful and their restaurant (The Panorama) on the top floor is very good with lovely views, as is the bar. However, neither is cheap, although we found the room charge good value for money, as we had use of the club lounge for breakfast and sundowners, plus all-day coffee and free wifi. Would definitely use this hotel whenever we go to Lisbon.

Room Tip: As mentioned above, Room 205 is ideal for anyone with mobility problems. The view wasn't good, but to us it was more important to have the facilities in the bathroom.

The Sheraton is not right in the tourist heart of Lisbon (which is centred around Baixa Chiado) but Lisbon is very easy to travel around by public transport and the hotel is located right next to a metro station so travel is not a problem. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The hotel room bathrooms are incredible!

Stayed at the Sheraton for our first visit to Lisbon. A mixed feeling now the holiday is over.

Pros:
- rooms are refurbished and the beds, as always, comfortable
- even the basic room was large and decently decorated in brown
- close to the airport bus stop
- electronic blackout curtains on the windows

Cons:
- close to only one metro station (Picoas) and this was on the Yellow line which doesn't go anywhere useful
- wifi was EUR19 per day, as was the wired internet
- breakfast was EUR25.50 each for a buffet
- the electronic blind between the bathroom and the room was broken and was not fixed

For a business stay, if you had everything included, then this would be fine. But it's just that bit too far out and too expensive for a tourist stay. Even the pool and spa were for a fee.
