The Hotel is in a very good localization "very very" near to a Metro/Subway from where you can go to almost everywhere in Lisbon. Breakfast has good options and an acceptable price (5 EUR), however dinner is expensive for the options available in the menu.
All attendants were always helpful and all that I talked to were able to speak English.
Rooms were clean and in an OK size. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a friend.

We stayed here for 4nights in March.
This hotel is touted as 4*, standards must have dropped as this is 3* at best. Upon arrival the staff were unfriendly and distracted. Their English is generally poor which made it difficult to discuss important details and obtain information and tips. We were taken to our room by the friendly porter and were pleasantly pleased with the room, despite it being on the small side. The shower has good pressure but the temperature fluctuates. So after 7hours traveling we hit the sack only to be awoken by a persistent banging and drilling. It turns out that the hotel backs onto a building site! So 8am, every morning, this was our alarm since the 'double glazed' windows (if you can call them that?) did not keep any noise out. The view leaved a lot to be desired too (see pic). With this I mentioned it to the moody receptionist who replied, 'what building site?' - That's when I showed her the photo of it to which she replied, 'oh'...followed by, 'You can move to the first floor where you can't see it'. Which we decided against since the noise was the key issue. No escaping that. It's very cheeky that this isn't mentioned in the description on Booking.com.
With regards to location, the positive is that the metro station is directly outside the hotel. On foot, it is about 15min walk to the centre (downhill), so really the location is not perfect but not bad either.
I love Lisbon and will return but will certainly not be staying at HF Fenix Lisboa.

Our first time to Lisbon. I went for a meeting my wife and daughter joined me. We booked 2 rooms in this hotel because the meeting took place in the hotel. The hotel is located right in the square. We took the airbus from the airport, later we found out that it was a mistake because you can take the metro it takes half the time and cost half the money. At first look from the outside the hotel looks like an old place but when you enter it looks completely new and modern. The rooms looks as they were renovated, very clean and comfortable but a bit small. The hotel is about 20 walk from the old city, there is a metro station just in front of the hotel so it is very easy to get around. Breakfast was nice with many choices. The staff was very nice and helpful they recommended a restaurant and a one day trip to a nearby towns and other place. I would defiantly recommend this hotel.

We arrived here for 2 nights pre-cruise. We had booked a suite and weren't disappointed. Beautiful view over the city from a nice balcony, comfortable clean room and very well priced. The subway is practically right out the front door so easy to get around and walking the pedestrian area is super easy. Very easy to sightsee from here. Breakfast was excellent with great choices of both hot and cold foods.
We had a minor power outage on a section of our floor one evening and they were there to fix it in minutes. We felt service was very good.

Room Tip: splurge on a balcony room, the view is lovely

I stayed here for a project meeting. In general the facilities were fine and the staff were generally very nice. Unfortunately, I had two significant problems during my stay:

On arrival, I was given the key to a room that was already occupied! This seems like a pretty fundamental error, and with obvious security implications. The second key I was given for a different room just didn't work at all: keycard problems seemed quite frequent among guests.

Secondly, the internet connection was utterly dreadful. Given that the hotel seems to specialise in hosting meetings -- and that was the purpose of my trip -- this is again rather fundamental. No one could get online most of the time, and on a business trip away from the office connectivity is pretty important.

On the basis of the above two issues, I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The hotel offers very clean rooms almost in the center of Lisbon. Its breakfast with fresh fruits at such a price is a must. We stayed in this hotel in two occasions and in total four nights. We will definitely consider the hotel in our next trip to Lisbon.

Nice hotel but Reception Staff are unhelpful and unfriendly!!

The hotel is central location. Rooms on the 7th floor. very nice rooms. Very clean.

The check in at reception is a joke, front office staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. Don’t you dare to ask them 2 questions as they look at you angrily. Smile is not existing at reception except the two porters which were very nice and helpful. Do not order a wake up call through reception as they will forget to wake you up and you might lose your flight. Reception Staff need a very good training. They don’t even want to say “Good morning/evening” to guest. No any sign of help. They are miserable and they show it clearly when you ask them for some info about the hotel, city,…etc.

Restaurant: Breakfast is very basic and the same items every day. We asked the staff to change some items but they told us they can’t do anything due to instructions from their management. Restaurant staff are very nice and helpful.
