Confession: I was making my last minute run for American Airlines executive platinum status, which limits choices. The smaller boutique hotels were inexplicably sold out--I don't think the Feast of the Immaculate Conception drove throngs to Lisbon that weekend.
Oddly, the Four Season Ritz (who licenses whom?) was available, and was actually in my price range for such odd trips. I booked with a sense of uneasiness.
Long story short, the sweetest, most helpful staff in the world, and I travel a lot. Immediately, I felt as though I had rested my head there for years. I will admit, despite economic austerity the people here to the last person could not be more gracious and kind. The FSR magnified this experience.
Beautiful property, easy to walk to the usual upscale global names or, if you prefer, keep marching along Libertad and you will find lovely pockets off every side street.

Everything was unbelievably good, in a word just awesome. The hotel's staff is incredible. The level of service they provide is more than high. It feels like the concierge is planning his/her own trip/ own dinner etc. During the breakfast, you can't even notice when they change your plates/knifes/forks. You don't even have time to think "emm... I might need this" - it's already on your table.

The hotel is excellent and the staff very polite and efficient. I can't forget anyone: the people from the front desk, the concierge, the room service, the room maid, the bar, the restaurant and the SPA. Portugal is beautiful and safe. The hotel was a unique experience to complete our vacation.

Ola!

We are happy to have surpassed your first impression.
The building built in the 1950s has a the modernist look of the time. It is good to know that inside you found wonderful service, beautiful rooms, very tasty coffee ( cafez here is very important, as you may have notice Portugueses are coffee lovers) and food.
The Staff is our prized possession, we will share your comments with them.

Obrigada for choosing our hotel and for your comments.

We spent 2 nights there. Service was excellent, rooms were excellent. We didn't try the restaurants but we did eat breakfast, which was very good. The only negative for the hotel is the location" as it is located on top of a very steep hill. Taking a taxi everywhere will remove that problem. It is next to a park, which is a plus. The gym is well equipped and the Pilates trainer is also a physio, which is reassuring. Go to the gym and take a look at the view - you will see Lisbon from up high. All in all this hotel could not get much better.

Room Tip: Get a room on a high floor facing the sea.

Ola!

Thank you for your review and recent stay with us.
We were glad to read that you found the Service and the rooms to be excellent.
We hope next time you'll have a chance to try our restaurant.
It is unfortunate that the location was not a plus.
We read that you had time to visit our rooftop gym and meet our "first class" Pilates, Yoga and Fitness team.
It offers a great photo opportunity - Lisbon from up high.

The staff of the hotel was, without exception, extremely friendly. The location of the hotel is not bad, but you need to walk for a bit to get anywhere, or take the rather cheap taxis in Lisbon. Some rooms have a nice view over the city, but only the ones looking down on the park! The four seasons is a very nice business hotel at the border of Lisbon's old town, modern, very friendly but still a big hotel as one would expect, with international not local charm.
If you want wireless access, you need to pay 16 Euros for the slow and about 30 for fast access, which in 2013 I find just strange!

Room Tip: Zimmer Richtung Park!

We had a wonderful stay in this superb hotel. Best location in Lisbon.Overlooking the town. We had a large room with a balcony and best view over the town. The large room was tradtional but well kept. The bathroom very spacious and comfortable. We can recommend this hotel to anybody who looks for a hotel with a tradtional "grand hotel atmosphere", perfect service and friendly staff. The fitness area on the rooftop is unique. Breakfast was excellent - food and service.
