“Hotel Eduardo VII”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

The rooms are furnished with very old furniture. The shower was not working and it was not repaired during my one week stay there. It was very noise during the night: neighbours and also from the traffic on the street.
The location is quite good, easy to reach everything by metro.

Exma. Sra. / Sr. ,

Melhores cumprimentos.

The hotel was near the center of the city, clean and staff was very helpful. Good breakfast, although the same few days in a row. Would come back anytime!

Room Tip: Higher floors with nicer view.

Dear Sir / Madam,

Thank you for taking the time to evaluate your stay here with us at Hotel Eduardo VII.

We are pleased to know that you found your stay positive, and regret the noise you encountered in your room. Even though we have double glass windows in all the front of the hotel, it is still a city hotel, so there are movement and traffic, surrounding it.

We hope to see you again in the future, to welcome you once more in our hotel.

Best regards.

I can't understand why there have been some negative reviews. I found the reception staff and porter to be welcoming and the 2 issues I had in the room (remote control not working and a dud bulb in my bedside lamp) were resolved in minutes.

The room itself was spotless and had recently been painted and the bathroom was modern. The maid cleaned and changed the sheets every day (a girl from the Cape Verde islands - really professional and I loved chatting about Cesaria Evora with her). The room wasn't huge, but adequate. There was copious hot water every day at a good pressure. There were power points to spare. OK, the communal areas were rather old fashioned, but I loved that anyway.

Breakfast was a huge and unhurried affair in the picturesque 10th floor restaurant. What I will say about this is that although it was perfectly adequate for a short stay, I can see that it would get boring after a while. I saw no sign of the bacon that others have mentioned, which is a pity, I just saw the Frankfurter type sausages. The eggs were great! There were also slices of ham and mortadella, different cheeses, croissants and cakes, yoghurt and cereals as well as several different types of bread. And real butter and jams. The orange drink was a disappointment, not real juice. Perhaps the breakfast could offer some different things on different days.

I had 2 meals in the restaurant in the evening. They were both fine and good, attentive service.

The internet needs attention. I was in room 313 and perhaps the router couldn't reach there, as I got interruptions in signal rather too often and sometimes a 20 minute period when there was no signal at all. That was annoying. And the TV had just 2 UK channels - but you don't go to Lisbon to watch TV, do you?

The metro is a couple of hundred yards away and the El Corte Ingles the same distance further on. There are several small and good restaurants, cafes and pastry shops in the vicinity.

Would I stay again? Absolutely!

(Stayed between 2nd and 6th March)

Room Tip: Rooms at the back don't get much sun, which might be an advantage in summer.

This is the hotel where TAP Portuguese Airlines puts you up when they arrive late and need to pay you an overnight voucher., I rate it as a good and affordable bed and breakfast and use it when I don't wish to arrive at Faro,Algarve just before midnight with going through the car rental formalities plus a 40 min. drive to my final destination, but. prefer to take it leisurly in the morning. It's only a 10€ taxi ride from the airport and a walk down the beautiful Avenida da Libertade to the center. the registration is no big deal and swift, the rooms are simple but have all you need, airco, bath, tv and they serve a correct breakfast in the restaurant at the top floor with a good view over the city..This solution provides me an pleasant evening in Lisbon with the cost of it offset by the shorter stay in Quarteira. Algarve and a day less car rental

We stayed for two nights in this narrow and seemingly old hotel. In terms of price it was doing ok and it wasn't reall. It was clean but not shiny and reception was very busy. Parking is like hell in this place. You can walk or take the subway to reach downtown. Breakfast is on 10th floor, beware of vertigo. Nothing extraordinary good or bad to note, it's just a 3* Portuguese hotel in Lissabon.

Tip: Take room on higher level to minimize traffic noise.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay in our property and help us get better. We apologise for the reception being busy at that time, but it is something unpredictable, that we cannot control.

Regarding the parking, we must note we have parking places in the street in front of the hotel and another more in a garage close to the hotel.

We hope we can have you stay with us again in the future, so we can do our best to improve your stay.

Best regards.

Miss this one like the plague! it is dated, dirty and has Best Western cards in the rooms but has not been a BW for 4 years. 3 of us stayed on a business trip and each of us were extremely disappointed, especially as we were charged 95 euro per room.

Dear Sir,

Thank you very much for staying at Hotel Eduardo VII and for taking the time to evaluate us.

We respect your insight and suggestions, however we must say that we have removed all the Best Western related content from our hotel, expect some cards in our bathrooms that advise our guests to only put the bathing towels to wash if they find it necessary, in order to protect the environment, which we find is a noble cause.

Again, we appreciate your comment and will take it into account to better serve our guests in the future.

Kind regards.
