“Perfect base in city center”
Reviewed July 27, 2014

We stayed only one night in Brown's Downtown but it was awesome. The location couldn't be any better. Right at the heart of the city and very close to Bairro Alto area as well. The hotel can be easily missed from the street as there are no large signs or anything so pay attention when arriving. The reception area is completely unique experience and we really felt welcome. The reception area has a free coffee machine for quests.

When walking to our room, the hallway continued the unique feel of the hotel. Narrow wooden hallways and then we came to our awesome room. The room had iMac, iPad and iHome which I haven't seen before in a standard room. Not much extra space in the room but just enough for two persons. Bathroom was good as was the bed, although the bed was a bit more narrow than usually.

We were a bit worried about possible noise from the street to our room but the room was really quiet. You couldn't hear anything else than the room door closing next to your room.

We didn't have breakfast as we left early to the airport so cannot say anything about it.

I would love to come back to Brown's Downtown when in Lisbon, the next time. The location is so perfect and it still was quiet and peaceful hotel. The price wasn't that bad either. Highly recommended!

The hotel is located in the old city center of Lisboa. Modern and very nice inside architecture and decorated rooms. The rooms were a little bit small but okay if you know you are in the center of the city. Breakfast is serviced in the coffee shop next door which is a nice location. The only minus is the content of the breakfast. We stayed for four night and breakfast was four times the same. A little bit of changes might be great!

When we stayed in Lisbon we were coming to the end of a 3 week vacation. We were exhausted and prepared to go home. Brown's made me want to extend for a month. The ammentities are nothing to shout about but the location was exceptional. Smack-dab in the middle downtown, 10 min walk from anywhere. The room was also a real treat with a real computer (which was strangely a nice reprieve from the ipad), range, sink, and kitchen utencils. The bed was actually awful but the location and the homleyness of the room truly saves the 5 star rating. Highly reccomended.

Room Tip: 6th floor (top) if you can get it. Elevator access only to the 5th but well worth the lugging up on...

I stayed here only for one night in Lisboa in July but found myself wishing I had booked for longer. The location was perfectly situated in downtown Lisboa very close to the metro an old city. The lobby looks like a designer furniture store I loved the trendy but casual setting moving away from the traditional big desk where the check in counter and concierge is usually found. The room was more than comfortable and beautifully decorated, the room was comfortable and very clean with a computer and ipad in each room for the guests to use, I thought that was a lovely touch. The service was very friendly and at the price I got the room for ($120 AUD) would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Lisboa. Although I wouldn't recommend the 10 euro breakfast, you can get a lot more for a lot less at any other cafe.

The Hotel is situated Baxia-Lisbon and is a perfect located for the start of your Lisbon exploration. The design rooms are large & beautiful - PC available. The staff is friendly and helped us out finding train tickets. A hipster lobby and copious breakfast is served at brown's cafe down the road.

I was slightly anxious about booking here as I was not familiar with the City and being allocated a Small Room. No need to worry....from the start they were excellent, a couple of days before they sent a welcoming e-mail asking if there was anything they could arrange for me (nice touch).

Its location is perfect, right in the heart of Lisbon next to the Metro and a short walk from everything. The room was beautifully decorated, (front facing 109) and quiet and peaceful. This is a real Gem and well worth staying. The staff were most helpful too. My only issue with 109 was the refelecting walls of missors in the bathroom, you need to be both fit and brave to get naked in there......age has not been kind to me but came away determined to work off those Nata's.

Thank you all at Browns for a wonderful stay

Room Tip: Only stayed in a front facing room, cannot compare, I'd certainly stay in 109 again
