Excellent hotel in perfect location - walking distance to everything in downtown Lisbon.

Stayed in one of the medium rooms - not too big, but OK for a couple. Smallest bathroom/shower solution ever..!

We also enjoyed having our breakfast in the friendly cafe next door.

The hotel is easy to find from the metro & the location is excellent for a city break. On arrival at the hotel the staff were very welcoming & the reception area is very stylish…very impressed. On entering our room we really liked the decoration & style. We had the medium room which was excellent for a short stay, it's a little tight to move around especially in the bathroom (getting in the shower when the bathroom door was closed was a squeeze). The room was cleaned daily & it was immaculate.
The iMac, iPads & gadgets are a nice touch & it's good to be able to use the computer to plan your stay. Our iPad didn't seem to want to connect to the server though. The lighting in the room is stylish but not all that 'light'!
I really liked the little kitchenette, you have a fridge, kettle, hob & all the cutlery and crockery you will need. This meant we ate breakfast in our room so didn't try the hotel breakfast, which is served at the nearby Browns Coffee Shop (which we used for an afternoon drink, very 'Friends' and very good).
On the whole this is an excellent hotel, we would stay again & readily recommend.

The hotel is right down the center of the lower city, close to the main shopping area and a few feet from a subway stop. It is very nicely decorated, full of design furniture. In the room you will find a nice big apple computer, tv and even a small 'kitchen'. Wifi is everywhere.

Reception staff is very friendly and helpful.

For 10 euro you can buy a breakfast voucher that you can use in their separate 'bar' just across the street, but if you do not each too much or want variation I suggest you forget about that and arrange your own.

Room Tip: If you don't like small elevators or walking a lot of stairs, choose one on the first floor.

Excellent location for everything cool decor and small but well kitted rooms
The IPAD & MAC in the room really helps
The WIFI was VERY unreliable in room except in the lobby despite many reminders
The AC in the room didn't work so we relied on the fan
This was April & 24•C
If this was summer....

Nice atmoshere and hip designed. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Free coffee in the lobby. Tastefull trendy rooms with wonderfull details. Most batrooms are too small and ours smelled. Go for a room streetside or better..take a suite on the 6th. They are double the size and have a great view over lisbon. Well worth the small difference. Breakfast is in the
cafe on the corner.

Browns downtown is fabulous. I was initially hesitant to book this place as it was rated 3 stars on Agoda and higher priced than the four stars Double Tree Hilton, but I am very happy I chose Browns Downtown.

The lobby is cute and there's a vending machine for free coffee, tea... I've been getting coffee every single day and twice.

Customer service here is fab too. They're warm and helpful. Coming from Asia where most hotels bend over backwards to provide you with the best hospitality, I would say the team here is comparable. Very nice and friendly.

Room - I booked the medium size room for two people. And it is roomy and has no view. Linen is clean and there's a pillow menu. Tv, mac and iPad here works great.

My only concern is the bathroom. The shower door doesn't close properly and so water leaks out to the washroom floor. I hate that! And you can't close the bathroom door entirely when you want to shut the shower door. Then the default is the rain shower which you will splashed with freezing cold water before the water heats up.

There's also a kitchen in the room which makes for great re-heating of leftovers. It seems like kitchen isn't part of the clean up but it's not a big deal, I think many places in Europe work like that.

Overall a big thumbs up to browns. I will definitely stay here again.

My stay at the Brown's Downtown Hotel was one of the best during my 3 week trip in Europe. The hotel is in the heart of the downtown area and is accessible to all tourist attractions and public transit. The taxi dropped us off in front of the hotel and It was almost hard to find. The exterior blends in with the rest of the surrounding buildings and does not give off a grand entrance feel. It is tucked into one of the side streets near the pedestrian promenade where the are plenty of shops and restaurants. When entering the lobby, you are greeted with lounge style music and ultra modern sitting areas which are inviting to plan out your day trips around Lisbon. The staff is very friendly and willing to answer any questions that you have. They even gave you a list of their favorite restaurants and attractions in the area. The rooms were very clean and equipped with technological equipment that I don't even have in my own home. Our room had an iPad and desktop Mac computer which I am pretty sure all rooms have. The bathroom was kinda a tight squeeze, stand up shower only, with minor drainage issues (don't take a long shower or else you will flood the floor!) and a sink without counter space.

I really don't have any complaints about this place. I don't remember the exact price, but I know it was reasonable. I would recommend to any friends or family who will be traveling to Lisbon.
