We found this great little place while wandering around the Bairro Alto neighbourhood. We were brought out plates of cheese, ham and croquettes, presumably as a complimentary snack - beware though, these are charged for at the end of the meal. Being new to Portugal, we had no idea of the etiquette - and for people like us on a tight budget, an unexpected charge of nearly ?15 can be quite a hit. The main courses of the typical dish of Bachalau á Bràs were very good however, and went well with the good house red. All in all, a nice place to have dinner in a hip neighbourhood - highly recommended before a night out on the town!
