The Mercador is a refurbished old palace building in the heart of the Baixa district on a lane parallel to the main avenue Avenida Liberdade just 3 minutes walk to Avenida subway station. The room that we had, the Dom Joao, was huge and furnished in 18th century style. The refrigerator was well stocked with breakfast items. Upon arrival, Pedro was extremely helpful and gave us tips and recommendations on what to do in Lisbon. I would highly recommend the Mercador to anyone planning to visit Lisbon - it is right where the action is.
