“Great location!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2011

Stayed there in early October after an organised tour and booked at the last minute. It's location is superb, right in the centre of the city and just a relatively short stroll to the water front. The rooms are adequate, if a little dated, and the beds are reasonable. There's a minibar and a TV. The internet in the lobby is free and reasonably quick.

Didn't eat breakfast there, preferring to dine at the almost infinite number of eateries that are within a short walking distance. The staff were friendly and even when there were certain 'wrong' mini bar items added to the bill the errors were quickly corrected. No language problems.

Nice and stylish hotel. Rooms are pretty, though a bit small. We had a room facing to a backyard/construction site, window could be opened. Window also between room and bathroom with a blind-curtain you can pull down and up(for more light). The bed was a bit hard for my taste.
Excellent location, just a nice walk from city center and Bairro Alto. Bus to airport and city center close. Taxi to airport 7 euros. Pastelaria in same street (yummy).
Breakfast was ok: A lot of sweets and white bread(which is typical portuguese). Cofee-machine. Ham, cheese, musli, fruit. Scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. No vegetables like tomatoes etc at the breakfast.
Englishspeeking staff.

Newly built hotel, clean rooms, nice bathrooms. There is a construction site on one side of the hotel. They start working at 8 a.m. and finish about 6 p.m. We asked to change rooms to a room facing the street, but all rooms facing the street were doublerooms, whereas we wanted a twin-bed, still we did not spend that much time in the hotel room and were not that disturbed by the noise. Hotel is situated a fifteen minute walk from Restauradores with all the reastaurants and bars you will find there. Only a two minute walk to the nearest tube station.
The only real problem we had with this hotel was breakfast. Not that much to choose from and the staff could not keep up the guests. No bread, no youghurt, no milk, no scrambled eggs, you had to ask for everything and wait, not a great start to the morning. Over all, we liked the hotel, sitauted on a quiet street, modern clean rooms, close to communications.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the street to avoid noise from building site.

We had difficulty with finding our way on the first night in Portugal picked up a car from the airport and drove to the area the hotel is in. Streets are very poorly sign posted. This hotel was very nice clean and suitable for our overnight stay

4 star establishment with room sizes designed for single occupancy, so if you a couple you will straggle, with space no bedside electric sockets. The staff were helpful, breakfast, was good but awful coffee, located walking distance from tourist locations, more suited to business customer

My wife and I spent 2 nights at this hotel and were very happy with the room. It was very modern ( appeared almost new), clean and comfortable with mini bar, safety deposit box, FREE wifi, well appointed bathroom with large *shower cubicle (big enough for 2).
Location was also excellent with an airport bus stop within a 5 minute walk at Marquês de Pombal Square, and the city an easy 30 minutes walk along Liberdade ave with a lovely central shaded area between the roadways either side. Mustn't forget the reception staff who were also very friendly and efficient. The free use of a printer in the lobby (attached to the guest PC there) was also very handy and much appreciated
The only NEGATIVE was the fact that our room, which was at the back of the hotel) overlooked a major construction site with loud demolition/excavation work beginning at 8a each morning - no sleep ins unfortunately!!! Depending on what is built on the site once it is cleared, there is every likelihood that the work could continue for another 12 months or more.
It may pay the hotel to provide ear plugs to guests like at another hotel we stayed at in Amsterdam
A reasonable sized supermarket was 2 blocks away and there were several nearby restaurants. Although we didn't try them, choosing instead to eat out in the city area, one on the corner about 50 metres down the street seemed very popular with locals and tourists alike

I WOULD HAVE RATED THE HOTEL AS VERY GOOD EXCEPT FOR THE NOISE IN TH MORNINGS

* the shower was separated from the bedroom by a glass wall with pull down blind on bedroom side for privacy. Strange but ok
