This hotel may seem like a bit of a hike to the main tourist sites, but it’s literally just round the corner from Parque metro station, which takes you to the centre in a couple of stops. It’s also only 200 metres or so from the airport bus stop (Marques Pombal). The location is very quiet, across the road from the park. We stayed for 3 nights; our room was a fair size with comfortable beds, and the ensuite included a small bath. Everything was clean and well maintained. Breakfast is copious, with more emphasis on calories than roughage. We had dinner on one occasion; good service, excellent quality and very reasonable price, though the portions were on the modest size. There’s a small bar, where they willingly filled our thermos flasks (there’s no tea making facilities in the room). Wifi is free, a fact not mentioned by the hotel’s website, but there’s a charge for the room safe (1 euro per day). We found all the staff, including the receptionists, to be very efficient and helpful. Altogether, an exceptionally nice hotel.

This hotel was very clean and at a great location however it was in need of some updating. Furniture and amenities were very old. Other than though, good hotel. Also like much of the city, its on a hill so be prepared for the incline when walking between the hotel and the bus stop. The metro though is right around the corner.

Stayed for 4 nights, 30/3-3/4/2012. Only about 200 yard walk from bus routes to and from Airport and all destinations around Lisbon etc. Clean, tidy and fine as a sleeping base. Meals in the restaurant are of the same quailty as the many local ones and similarly priced, although, they did not have a service Sat and Sun! Breakfast is fine if you like continental and the same offering every day. Staff helpful and friendly. I got exacly what I paid for and it did the job I required perfectly well.

We (2 adults) stayed in this hotel for 3 nights (Friday March 30 - Monday April 2, 2012). Based on the good reviews on the internet we decided to stay here.
It is a very good hotel! Do not expect a five star-hotel, but this hotel is very affordable and very good for its own class. A good choice to stay when you are in Lisboa.

First of all: the hotel is located near a parc in a side-streat and therefore nice and quiet. We liked that very much. Also, the hotel is still center-located because it is situated near a metro-station (approx. 100m) and bus-station (approx. 500m trough parc).
Secondly: the employees are all nice, helpfull and hardworking!

We had a very clean room. The room itself was not very big, but the high ceiling gives a sense of space. The room looked as if it was redecorated recently. We also had a small balcony and there was an airco. The bathroom was clean and had a bath and shower as well.
The mattress was very hard and stiff but for us it was OK.

The breakfast was complete. A choice of bread, cornflakes, egg and sausage and local products was available. Also juice, milk, coffee and tea.

When you want to visit Lisboa, think of this hotel. A good choice!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor.

My first thoughts when arriving at this hotel were that it was a great find for the price. However, not everything was as good as it could be.

The location is good in a very nice area with a park facing it, although the park is on a bank at a much higher level than the hotel. Unlike many city centre hotels, it is farly quiet. The airport to city centre bus stops almost at the end of the road at the Marques de Pombal (a big roundabout/square with a massive statue) end of the Avenue Fontes Pereira de Melo (there is previous stop on the same same avenue but it is the Marques de Pombal stop that you want). A taxi to the airport costs 12 Euros. The Parque metro station is just around the corner, less than 100m away and the metro station at Marques de Pombal is also within easy reach. There are plenty of bus routes from Marques de Pombal. We got a bus from there direct to Belem (where the famous tower and monstery are located, both of which are a must see). Public transport in Lisbon is cheap and convenient. Although not right in the centre, it does not take very long to get into the tourist centre by metro, so location is definitely not a problem.

Other reviewers have comented on the steepness of the road on which the hotel is located. We (who are late middle aged and not supremely fit) managed to lug trolley cases up it, after getting off the airport bus, without too much problem and most of Lisbon is on hills, some of which are very much steeper.

Our room, which we were advised was one that had recently been refurbished, although not huge was a reasonable size and a had a bathroom with a bath with shower, bidet, WC and wash hand basin. The water pressure at the wash hand basin was low so it took some time to fill. The room was reasonably well furnished and there was a Samsung flat screen LCD television. Although the bed initially seemed a little firm and not that well padded, we slept very well in it. There were no free power sockets to use to plug for portable computers, battery chargers etc., which most modern travellers will need. I had to get under the desk and unplug either the fridge or the television to free a socket. On the first night, the room was cold and there was only thin bedding on the bed but there was an extra blanket and bed cover. Subsequent nights felt a little warmer.

We did not eat at its restaurant, apart from breakfast but the menu for evening meals (served 7 or 7.30pm until 10.30pm if I remember correctly) was reasonably priced. The buffet breakfast selection was was niether the best or worst we have had but was acceptable (although there were no yogurts). However, the fruit juices (orange or tropical) tasted like very dilute squash and were definitely not enjoyable and the tea was no better. I cannot comment on the coffee as we did not drink it. One morning (of 4), the restaurant was over full for breakfast and was cordonned off so we had to go back to our room and return a bit later.

Staff at reception and many of the others spoke English and all were friendly and helpful. A problem I reported with our wash hand basin was fixed the next day.

Great location, friendly staff and comfortable rooms made this hotel a good choice for a weekend visit to Lisbon. The rooms are nicely furnished with adequate bathrooms - not the largest of rooms, but clean and well-maintained. Breakfast can be busy at certain times so it is best to come early or later on if the hotel is really busy but the staff keep the buffet well-stocked.
There's no need to walk miles as the metro can be accessed about 60 yds away, turn right out of the hotel, walk up to the next road, turn right again and walk down to the station. All public transport can be readily accessed with one cheap daily ticket. That said, it's a steady walk down the main road to the city centre.

Room Tip: We picked a "park view" room which were at the front of the hotel.

The front desk personnels are all very helpful. Pedro Fernandez who checked us in on our arrival is exceptionally helpful. Great at recommendation and giving out help when ever he can. Excellent place to stay even with room without double bed.

Disappointment was the hotel room was requested as double bed but it is actually two single beds put together. So, not very good for couple with kids! Also, we stayed 4 nights and one night the room above was terribly noisy that woke us up three times. Room probably have very poor sound proof condition. But it is acceptable as it is old building. The other nights were still good.

Breakfast is sufficient, the waiter is very good with children. He prepared high chair as we arrived. Impressive experience waiter.

Thank you. Overall enjoyed our stay. Service is definitely one that will keep us back next time we are in town.

Room Tip: Try to get room with windows to the view of the park, it is very relaxing in the morning to see the...
