It is testament to the quality of the double glazing that despite being next to a major produce market, none of the early morning bustle penetrates your room. (On a side note, the market is worth an after-breakfast stroll to see some of the scary stuff on the fishmongers' slabs). The AC is both quiet and efficient. The decor is pleasantly bohemian, the young staff very friendly and helpful, and the location very convenient both for central Lisbon and bus/tram to Belem.

Loved everything about our stay at the guesthouse. It had a homely feel and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I had lost my baggage on the way to Lisbon and they made a big effort to help me sort it out with the airline. Our room was beautiful and spacious with charismatic decor. We paid for the 'river view' room which was well worth the small amount extra. The included breakfast was excellent!
Although the area looks a bit dodgy on first look it was an excellent spot to stay, good resteraunts nearby and only a steep tram ride to get up to the very cool Barrio Alto. It was a bit hard to find, expecially as we arrived at night time.
I would not hesitate to book here next time I go to Lisbon.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, pay the extra money for a river view - more space and great view.

I just had an overnight stay here but the place in delightful and charming. The best thing is that it is down by the harbour so quiet at night, but 10 minutes walking in every direction and you're either in the Bairrio Alto for nightlife, el Chiado for shopping and in two minutes you're on the ferry across the river to go down to the Costa caparica beaches. The hosts were just charming, friendly, and really interested in your hacing a good stay, they couldn't do enough, really special. The decor in the rooms and the breakfast loft is exquisite, mixing modern and classic with great taste. Cool rooms at night was a plus too. Definitely recommended.

The location is perfect, max 7 mins walk to the famous squares and shoppingstreets. If you have the guesthouse in your back you'll find the indoor vegetable market on the right and the Sao Paulo square on the right. Early in the morning you might find it disturbing seeing some homeless people, however they won't harm you. The neighborhood is safe and very upcoming. The trendy part of town starts already 100 footsteps away from the guesthouse; just go to the left, pass the square and have a drink at this fabulous winebar.. not even 50 meters further you will find a couple of restaurant, bars on the left side of the street. Nice for a drink, but also for some snacks or dinner. There's a fabulous bar in the middle, which can be reached by walking up the stairs.. one word: AMAZING, if you like a burlesque setting. If you leave this bar on the streetside upstairs and then walk uphill on the left side, you will reach the shoppingsstreets and oldest bar in Lisbon. Easiest way to reach the city center. Tram 28 leaves from there as well, buy your ticket at the postoffice (also on walking distance) for 5,50 EUR and you can use it for the next 24 hours after your first check-in. As mentioned, the location of the questhouse is really perfect and the people are very nice and helpfull. Very nice and personal approach! A Home far Away from Home...

We arrived late night, and somebody was waiting for us, because we telephoned we shall be late. This is an old (renovated) guesthouse, in a neighbourhood sort of shabby, specially at night. If you are looking for a conventional hotel lobby/bar/restaurant/reception this not your place. But the house has a special aura, the staff is extremely friendly, the breakfast is super, location is central and the water is near. The double bed could be bigger, not really comfortable for two. At the end we left satisfied and with a good memory!

Room Tip: Lower rooms don't have a view.

The staff were extremely helpful & polite, particularly with regard to advice of things to see and they spoke excellent English! We arrived at around midnight, but they had made arrangements in advance for us to access the room - thoughtful & organised. Breakfast great, but get there early to bags the window seat! Was quite noisy outside but with the windows shut and zircon on - no probe! Great location too, particularly for nightlife, transport & the city centre. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: keep windows closed!

Staying in the Ribeira Tejo Boutique Guesthouse in Lisbon is a great experience. We had wonderful rooms on the 4. floor with a nice view on the river Tejo. The delicious breakfast is served on the 5. floor. One of the windows facing the Tejo has a broad sill to have your breakfast on while looking at ships on the river. On arrival a welcome drink is offered together with a lot of very helpful information about the city and surrounding places. The young people running the Guesthouse are very kind and knowledgeable and they help you with everything you need. One evening they made a reservation for us in a typical Fado-Restaurant aside from the touristic mainstream. This was a really good recommendation, and there of course you cannot pay with credit card.
We very much appreciated the kindness and helpfulness of all people we met in this Guesthouse, especially we thank Rita and Vera for their excellent recommendations.

There is nothing better than friendly and dedicated staff to welcome you and serve you a delicious home-made breakfast where you will have the opportunity of watching the ships go by, crossing under the 25th of April Bridge along with looking out to the Cristo Rei always on the lookout for any movement. Then, filled with energy you may begin your visit of Lisbon through the neighbourhoods of Chiado, Baixa and Bairro Alto which are less than a 10 minute walk-away from the Guesthouse, or if you prefer, you may also get on the No. 15 tram or the No. 28 tram to Alfama and Belem.
