Excellent Hotel. Their staff are super courteous, helpful and friendly. They go out of their way to help you find a tour, a restaurant, a church, or last minute taxi call/request. Most of the staff speak some English, some fluently.
Their first floor restaurant serves a Sunday buffet breakfast, that's hard to beat. It cost 19 Euros each, I believe, but more food than you can eat. Incredible selections: hot and cold dishes, cheeses, breads, meats, fruits, etc. Fabulous! Piano bar available in evenings.
Very nice rooms: Very clean and spacious.
It is located near the Central Business District, and close to public transport to get to Old city area and tours..

Room Tip: Corner rooms get lots of natural lighting during the daytime hours. Stayed on 16th floor; very quie...

Travelling with 2 girls (10 & 11) we had 2 interconnecting rooms - double and twin. Both were huge and very quiet. The girls loved the indoor pool. Staff were very helpful generally and I mentionned that it was my daughter's birthday while we were there and they provided a lovely cake and drinks in our room. Buffet breakfast was a bit pricey but very good ( we ate out in evening so can't comment on restaurant). Hotel was a little out of the centre but there was a taxi rank (Euro 5-10 into town though quality of taxis a bit variable) or bus stops just across the road (don't go for the tourist buses). My eldest liked the shopping centre over the road too! Successful family break.

Hotel was fine but location isn't ideal for tourists. Was there on business so less of an issue for me personally. Was a bit of a pain when had limited free time as nothing in close vicinity for that odd hour free. Luckily taxis in Lisbon are reasonable.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing your comments with us. We are glad to know that you had a pleasant stay with us. Indeed, taxis are not expensive in Lisbon, even though is a small city, the seven hills make it with a lot of ups and downs so taxi are a good choice of transportation.

I have been twice to the Dom Pedro as it's just next to my company office in Lisbon.

Mixed feelings, and not too good ones.

Sumptuous hotel, beautiful lobby, nicely maintained, sense of luxury throughout.
Rooms are huge and luxurious, bidet in the bathroom, restaurant on the third floor is pretty good.

But...

-Breakfast paid separately, (20 EUR per day, close to a joke) and for that price not even an on-demand section.
-Internet paid separately, 10 EUR per day, very expensive for a very poor connection, couldn't even stream YouTube. Also, every time you switch off or disconnect your computer from wifi you need to put in the daily login name and passcode (2x 7 digits numbers)which are written on a little piece of paper, and you get one per day, I got 6 for each day of my stay and I input that code probably 40 times during my stay, ridiculous.
-Tiny LCD TV.
-Twin, uncomfortable beds for single occupancy. Thanks very much.
-Extremely Noisy Air conditioning. Cool but really Not cool.
-Open and half consumed can of nuts in the storage.
-Visibly open and expired Chocolate bar in the fridge.
-Two 25 cl bottles of water in the fridge (4 EUR each..), once finished I had to drink tap water at night, that's not enough water, and guess what? During my stay two evenings I didn't have them replaced and couldn't even drink those.

Some people might find the above comments trivial or irrelevant, but in a 5 Stars hotel, costing 170/180 EUR per day with Breakfast and net, which is A LOT for Lisbon, it's unacceptable, it should be close to perfect, and it's well far from it. If it was my money and not my company's I would have REALLY got mad.

The building is quite old. Despite the fact that exterior is looking good, interior needs renovation defenetly. The beds quite big but uncomfortable, small pillows, small TV, wi-fi and breakfast should be payed separately (is it 5 stars hotel?), no kettle and iron, restaurant is ordinary. These are all minuses. Pluses could be quite friendly staff but again not all. And it is again strange for 5stars hotel such a situation. One person on reception helps me a lot when I have a problem with my tooth, by contrast, another lady on reception was very arrogant and unfriendly. The location of the hotel is good but quite far away from the downtown. I with my wife was living on 16th floor with the beautiful view on the city, room #1616.

We stayed in this hotel as part of a package from Voyage Privee and were not disappointed.
The deal allowed us access to the excellent spa and VIP lounge.
The room was large and included a well-appointed bathroom and sufficient space in the bedroom for sitting/working etc.
Overall we were most impressed by the staff who could not do enough to ensure that we were comfortable and well informed and advised for visits and sghtseeing.
