Recently stayed at the Hotel Principe for 3 nights. Got the metro direct from airport to the hotel - it only takes about 20 mins which is great, however whilst there is a metro entrance/exit directly outside the hotel it is confusing when you arrive as to what exit to take out of the metro that leaves you directly across the road from the hotel. In the 4 days that we stayed we could never find it! However the exit that leaves you at the Shopping Center up the road is only approx. 5 minute walk once you know the way.

The hotel room we were allocated was quite small and basic, no tea/coffee facilities, no toiletries except for generic shower gel/shampoo dispenser in shower. The room however was exceptionally clean, beds were extremely comfortable and as we only wanted somewhere to sleep it was perfect for us. The only negative I would have was that the shower surface was extremely slippy and it definitely needs a slip mat placed in it.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast which is Continental only had a great selection of food/beverages on offer, everything was very fresh, the breakfast room/service area were very clean and we couldn't fault anything about it.

With the Metro line so close to the hotel it was extremely easy to get anywhere we wanted to go within a very short space of time. The hotel was great for us and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced, clean, comfortable hotel with easy access to the rest of the city.

room OK but reception staff imposed payment of city tax even if website said all taxes were included; they pretended the website mentioned this but all weekend long it was off -line and when online again, they had changed the text on the website; staff not very polite

The hotel is easily accessible from the airport with a direct connection with the red line and is located in a quiet street right across the metro station Saó Sebastión.

The room for us was large enough - in contrast to other posters. Everything clean and tidy.

Everyone at reception was helpful and friendly with hints on where to go and how to get there. Reservations (e.g Dolphin tour, Fado Night) were organized upon request. There is a small hotel bar (open till midnight) and we want to mention a special thanks to Carlos from Brazil informing us about various activities.

Breakfast is definitely sufficient, although no English breakfast is served. However, a large variety of choices for everyone.

The only minor point of criticism is the handling of the parking. There is a limited number of parking spots available in the basement (cost around 10€/night). However, there is no guarantee to get any space again if you decide to go anywhere by car once you got "your" parking area. It can't be prebooked either. Anyway it is best to travel by public transport, unless you are planning to go further away for a daytrip or so.

What a gem of a place ! Great location in quiet area of Lisbon but large upmarket shopping centre 5 min walk, small supermarket 1 min walk and the metro 2 min away.
We had basic room on 6th floor with a small balcony - very comfortable, clean and tidy (no tea or coffee making facilities)
Breakfast with choice of breads, cheeses and meats as well as cereals, fruit and cakes was great and perfect to set you up for day.
All staff professional and friendly. Hope to be back soon ! Thanks

A cut price hotel in a good, safe, accessible area of Lisbon. Nice staff in all areas. The barman is very affable if you fancy a night cap. The rooms, although not deluxe are practical and functual with safe and fridge. Breakfast, you wouldn't expect full English would you but there are cereals and a good selection of drinks, pasties and bread which was fresh and plentiful. Straight out of the airport, on the metro it's the only metro line out, the red line and you get off at the last stop, San Sebastiao. You get your tickets at the machines in the metro station prior to travel. Tips on how to navigate the use of the ticket machines are on u tube. You can select English Language. The confusing part, which we had a problem with is when disembarking at San Sebastiao, you exit the station TO THE SET OF STAIRS TO THE LEFT. You will see them if you turn left when getting of the metro and walk right to the end and go up a couple of flights of stairs, through the gates, up one more flight. The hotel is over the road to your right. If you exit up the other flight it will take you away from the hotel.
A very good 3 star hotel in a nice area of Lisbon. We pre booked and cost £46 B&B!!!

Room tip: Request a high floor.
