“Nice seafood restaurant near M.Pombal”
Reviewed March 15, 2013 via mobile

We had a nice meal, in this restaurant on thursday evening. Benfica was playing against Bordeaux in Euro-cup, so the restaurant was filled with locals. Although the waiters were watching the game, the service was very quick and friendly.

We had clams for the start and fish of the day for main. All the food was very fresh good and well seasoned. The meal was acompanied by bottle of fine local white wine and of course cake for dessert and finally good espresso. Price was approx 65€.

“Unfriendly or just plain offensive?”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

We had dinner at this place for two nights in a row during our visit to Lisbon. The forst night we were mostly amused at how the waitors could actually manage serving so many aying guests while actually not even looking at them even once ... as they were fully concentrated on the football game on Tv. Well, this restaurant was still conveniently situated very close to our hotel so we decided to go back the night after. Only to be treated in the worst possible way! Arguements over lost orders, wrong pricing, laughing in our faces as we tried to politely enquire about what was on our bill but clearly not in our bellies ... I guess if you are after a quick meal without having to walk a long distance to find it .... if you are looking for a nice dinner experience though - stay away! There are plenty of small, friendly restaurants close by where you can have the same food at a fraction of the price of the Cacho Dourado - and where it will be served with a smile!

“Friendly staf”
Reviewed January 27, 2013 via mobile

I love this restaurant. Friendly people. Very helpfull and with a big smile. Good fishdishes, donnot hesitate to ask for advise. Staff will do their best to help you out. Lot's of locale around here. That is always a food sign. From the outside you wouldnot expect such a large and well organised Portugues restaurant.

“Great find near the Marques de Pombal”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

We were staying at the AC Hotel ( Marriott Courtyard European style) and discovered this restaurant on the way to another. It was a great find; full of locals. We had the shrimps in garlic, cod and the pork daily special. Total cost with a liter of house wine euro 36. The bar crowd was local workers and the dinner crowd was watching
sports on TV. Plenty of tavern atmosphere ie: legs of ham hanging on wall and fish in tanks. The waiters know all the locals but were still very accommodating to us as strangers. My husband loved it!

“Good for a late meal”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

We went about 2230pm after arriving at our hotel off our flight. The waiter was not particularly pleasant, but did his job well enough. The food was tasty, the steak and mushroom was spectacular. It seemed like a cheerful local place. Fair prices.
