“beautiful museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2014

Was a beautiful skeleton of a church that had burnt down...they never finished putting it back together but the "bones" are amazing.

“huge testimony of nature andmankind”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2014

Another interesting example of how small we , human beeings , are copared to Mama Nature . Although smaller in size , this site reminds me of the ruins of Beit Sheán ,Israel , the Roman city that was desroyed in an earthquake about a1000 years earlier . And also the ruins of Pompeii , Italy , destroyed some 1650 years earlier .
Very interesting site worth to include in the day you tour Lisbon, walking From Bairro Alto to the water front (at Praca Comercio) . ,

Short, varied museum in amazing ruins. Amazing range of displays spanning 3000 years is a fun snapshot view of events in Portugese history. Would recommend.

We particularly loved the mosaics and amphorae.

Was less than ?5 each for us

“Beautiful church and worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2014

Costs €3.50 each to get in. The church on the inside is beautiful and they have but some of the surviving original pieces out for you to see along with information plaques. The church was destroyed during the earthquake in 1755 and the museum inside explains that and offers many different things to see which is very interesting. By no means a full day but if visiting Lisbon make sure you go in and have a look.
