Description: Set within one of the most up-market and iconic areas in Lisbon – Largo do Teatro S. Carlos, Chiado – it is located within a building of the Lisbon Patriarchy, given that the main wing of the restaurant is part of the old cloisters of the Convento da Igreja dos Mártires. Chiado is one of the busiest and most cosmopolitan areas in the capital and is a compulsory stop. Consisting of a main floor, across the building, and a mezzanine, the space features several distinct areas, a combination of architectural concepts absolutely unique. One of the striking features in the creative design of the restaurant is a 30-metre wall with three panes of black glass encased within the wall. They contain three large aquaria, populated with dozens of jellyfish that create an original effect with movement of dance and light.

We celebrated our engagement there last Saturday. The ambience, food and service was amazing. And to finish the night the staff gave us an experience that we will never forget. They made our special night perfect!

This was the best dinner I have ever eaten!! Every course was exceptional. Staff were very accommodating of even my terrible Portuguese and couldn't have been more helpful.

Largo was a chic fancy restaurant nearyby the Opera House at Chiado. It is nicely decorated; it is an old redecorated building with high a ceiling, fancy lightening and an impressive the highlighted marble bar at the entrance. You can have good portions of Portuguese cuisine.

We chose this restaurant mainly because it is open on Sunday evenings and it was a real find. (We knew we had chosen well when the receptionist at the hotel said she and her friends ate there.) The Chiado area of Lisbon is really atmospheric at night. The welcome was warm and the decor in the restaurant is amazing. Don't miss the wide open mouth as the entrance to the wine cellar! Our table was next to one of the aquariums and the jelly fish were mesmerising. They have an amazing range of cocktails. I had a raspberry mojito and my husband has one of the many gin and tonics on offer but this one had cardamon in and was so different. The staff were friendly and helpful and all the food was excellent from bread to desert. Portion size was just right as we both hate to see mounds of food presented. The place was also really busy which made for a great atmosphere. (We booked for 8.00pm but experience has shown that most locals eat about 9.00pm). It may not be the cheapest meal you will ever have but will probably be one of the best evenings. Would definitely revisit.

We had an evening meal for a large group. The menu had a great variety of both fish and meat dishes. The chicken livers salad for a starter was just great and the nods around the table at the end of the meal said it all. The interior had a classically beautiful high ceiling mixed with a contemporary feel.
