“A touch of class”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2013

Very much enjoyed a convivial and peaceful few hours here one lunchtime, trying a variety of ports from €1.5 - 6 accompanied by some delicious sheep cheese, bread, almonds and olives.
Politeness, deference and smiles go a long way towards receiving good service, here as much as anywhere.
This is not a place for children or noisy youngsters!
We will definitely return if we go back to Lisbon and would recommend it to anyone with a genuine interest in porto.

“Fun Experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2013

While I will echo the other reviews regarding the service - it wasn't amazing - I wasn't expecting to be waited on hand and foot. The place is definitely geared towards port connesieurs rather novices. I visited after dinner for a nightcap and was not disappointed. Asked the waiter for some suggestions, but there was definitely a language barrier, so ended up with a 4 glass "flight" of the same port, aged 10, 20, 30 and 40 years respectively. Very quiet and comfortable atmosphere - a great way to end a long day of touring.

“Very rude poor service.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2013

It's an interesting place with a plethora of ports, however the service was horrible and ruined the experience. We didn't receive one of our appetizers, the waiter was not friendly and he actually yelled at us when we requested water. Definitely will not go back or recommend.

“Stuffy Service but a unique experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 13, 2013

The service is not the greatest but we enjoyed a unique opportunity to try a port wine in 10, 20, 30, and 40 year vintages. I would recommend this as a great after dinner activity and a worthwhile stop on your trip to Lisbon.

“A truly wonderful experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I visited this place three times during our visit. It as a wonderful atmosphere and a semi-pleasant but increadibly helpful wait staff. If they offer a suggestion, I recommend you take it. We were not disappointed with a single glass suggested by out waiter. The prices are the best in town, you can try many varieties for between 1.5-2.5€. if you like one ou can also purchase a bottle for less that any wine shop I'd been to in town. When you're finished you can step across the street for an amazing view of Lisbon and the castle.
