Nice Hotel and an amazing Oasis in the city and with the wonderful park and pool you can really relax and unwind.
We were not too happy with our room(s). First we were told we got an upgrade, which turned out to be a room in the Palace building, without balcony, 20 year old TV and something I would describe as a guest / helper room in a manor house. It did not have garden view as promised, but looking over the rooms in the new wing. We then asked to be downgraded again and got a pleasant garden view room with the balcony we craved. Sadly, this room was underneath the palace building and we think this caused the creaking pipes and water flow at night. In addition their king beds are not king beds, but just 2 single beds pushed together - probably we had a twin bedroom, but then they should not tell us it is a King bedroom we booked.
The staff were wonderful and very helpful in all areas, except, that the cleaning team threw away something we did not consider trash, which was also not in the dustbin.
I wanted to have a champagne with my wife on her birthday at the bar after dinner, however, there was a rock band staying at the hotel and the lobby and bar were full of people trying to catch a glimpse of them - a bit unpleasant for Hotel guests, whilst acceptable in the bar for paying customers, the ladies hanging out in the lobby was just not very classy. Seems a lot of rock / pop stars stay there and this is accepted by the management, so check if any concerts are on - either to see the stars or to avoid the side effects.
The breakfast is in the cellar / old garage even though the Hotel has a beautiful restaurant and balcony on the lobby level. They should use their restaurant for breakfast for a much nicer experience. Thinking of examples like Kempinski Falkenstein near Frankfurt.
