“Bigger than expected”

We visited the Oceanario on a day when it wasn't very crowded - which was nice. We were there over 2 hours. There is a huge central tank which you can see wherever you are. I also recommend the special Turtle exhibit. It's not huge but informative.

“Must see!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2014

A wonderful aquarium situated in a fascinating, open area of Lisbon.
The aquarium itself is thoughtfully laid out with expert attention paid to recreating natural environment. Sharks, Turtles, Otters, Penguins...it has it all!

“An attraction for all ages!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2014 via mobile

We visited recently and spent a wonderful three hours gawking at some big and small fishes! The lay out is very good and we spent a great deal of time in front of the massive fish tank and near the penguins. I also loved the section where they have recreated the tropical rain forest. The visit ends typically, at the shop, where we didn't buy anything, since it was a predictable tourist trap. There are lots of restaurants opposite the oceanario, where one can enjoy a good meal. Not to be missed!

Brings together all environmental aspects of the world's oceans. Best aquarium I've ever been to. Located in the fabulous park of nations.

“Nice to see”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2014

I visited the oceanario with my 9 yo daughter. I personnally had seen bigger aquariums but this one is very nice and very well kept. You can all see it in about 2 hours, and there is a possibility to have an audioguide. We did not have the opportunity to see the temporary exhibition, but we enjoyed the permanent one. Kids will definitely enjoy seeing sharks and rays and other kind of fish, as well as the sea horses, clown fishes, frogs and other... I would recommend it to families visiting Lisbon.
