“In one word, Fantastic.”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

This aquarium is the second largest in the world and is based in the new area specially created for the 1998 World festival. All display information is in Portuguese and English. As the Friday was a public holiday, we visited on the Saturday, crowded but still had plenty of chances to see all the exhibits. Bus service from the town could be better.
We used one of the "YellowBus" tours, which stop right outside.

“Amazing aquarium. Worth making time for on your trip to Lisbon!”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

I've traveled to a lot of cities and seen a lot of aquariums. I lived in San Francisco and would go to Monterrey Bay Aquarium a lot.

Let me tell you, this is leaps and bounds above Monterrey Bay.

You start at the top of the central tank and wind your way down in a spiral. On the way, you traverse continents to see different forms of sea life, always with the central tank beside you.

It is beautiful and mesmerizing and there are rarely crowds. I like to make time for this special place whenever we visit Lisbon.

“Good oceanarium for adults and kids”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

My friend and I really like this oceanarium. They had the exhibits broken into four climates and you could see the animals and fish up close. We ran through it somewhat quickly as we only had an hour or so but more time would be better.

“Great aquarium for kids of all ages - 3 to 103!”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

Fantastic aquarium built around a very large central tank with a number of smaller tanks interlinking with it. Father, mother and son all had a great time being Jacques Cousteau without having to get wet!
