“Visit here for the views”
Reviewed September 2, 2014

This was on the list of must sees in Lisbon and although there is very little of the actual castle except walls, there are some magnificant views of the city to be had. The area is huge so you don't feel as though you are fighting with other tourists for a look around. Be careful clambering over the castle walls as there are few handrails and some areas were just too high for me - and I like heights!

“Castle with a spectacular view”
Reviewed September 2, 2014

This castle overlooks Lisbon and when the weather is sunny the view is amazing. You could take the tram 28 or 12 up to the hill-but go there early otherwise you will have to wait ages to get on the trams specially during busy time.Worth getting the lisbon card so you will not have to pay for the tram neither for the entrance fee.During the journey its really good to see the city itself and those tiny streets as well. The castle itself is on a big land and also worth looking around the little park. The view from the walls is amazing, there is also falconry for kids. The gift shops are pricey and but the little coffee bars are ok. Don't be scared if you have peacocks begging for food around the castle restaurant.

“Unrivalled view over Lisbon”
Reviewed September 1, 2014

We were advised to take a walk through old Lisbon, up to the St George's Castle. We were not disappointed. Great battlements to walk along - ideal for children's imaginations (from Knights to Game of Thrones). Ideal position for a coffee under the shade of an umbrella pine, with the beautiful vista of Lisbon below. Get there early to avoid queuing.

History and a superb view over Lisbon, surely one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Unexpected and unforgetable.

“Amazing castle and views”
Reviewed September 1, 2014 via mobile

If you love castles, great views or taking photos, or all 3 like me, you will love it. On the highest point in the city, it offers simply amazing, 360 views of Lisbon. The castle itself is very neat, very much like what you imagine a medieval castle should look like. Make sure to walk around the little streets nearby. Highly recommended. Take 737 bus from figueroa plaza right up to the entrance or the trolley up to the castle area, though you will still need to walk up a bit.
