Beatiful view over Lisbon but you can have nearly the same view from ohter places for free. In my eyes too expensive

As the Castle is on the top of the Hill, one gets a wonderful view and can try and identify the places seen from the top.
If you can take a binocular you will not regret.
It is very easy to go back to town walking. You get easily to Praça da Figueira.
Cons: the ticket is a bit expensive for what they offer, mainly if you consider other castles in Europe.
(I can't remember if one can visit just the gardens for free).

A must to visit, you can try small bus No 737 from city center to avoid crowds in tram 28 and this takes you very close and saves you from climbing the steep streets. they have a kind of camera obscura which is interesting but has a limited space so once in the castle you should check the times and get tickets.

At the top of one of the Lisbon's seven hills this monument is located at the center of the city. With more than 800 years you can smell history all around. A great view over Lisbon and the Tejo river make part of Castelo de São Jorge. Close you canvisit another Hill, Graça and Monte, from where the view is completed with the castle. In your way back to the center you can walk through Alfama.

If you are coming to Lisbon, you surely have to visit the Castelo de São Jorge. One of the most emblematic places in the capital of Portugal. Completely renewed, it has a magnificent view over the city and over the Tejo river and its South Bank. You can also visit some ruins from the Moors and Roman eras.
