“Wonderful Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2013

My boyfriend and I visited after wandering around Castelo Sao Jorge for a few hours and were well in need of food and drink. The bar was listed in our guide as a top place to go so we made our way there. Upon arrival we were asked about what kind of wines we usually drank and then the gentlemen went and brought 3 different wines to the table, described the grapes and taste of each one and left us a a bit to try of each before picking our wine. Once we had decided he poured us a generous glass of our chosen tipple and soon brought over the bread, wine, cheese and ham (small platter) we had ordered. I tell you what, if this was a small platter I would hate to see a big one, there was loads on the plate. He explained all the different types of cheese and meat and left us to feast upon it. The olives were delicious and the marinade they were in was to die for, great bread, lovely variety of cheese and tasty meat. So reasonably priced too! We absoloutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone in the area, it's worth climbing the hill/riding the deathly tram 28 for!

“wonderful wines of portugal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2013

Recommended by lonely planet and was fantastic. The waiter -or perhaps owner- asked us what type of wine we like and brought three to taste. All we great. The cheese and charcuterie plate was the best I have ever had. We also did the port tasting which was amazing. Highly recommended.

“Best wine selection and best service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

We had a very late lunch here and were just wow'd by our server! He was extremely knowledgeable and very accomodating! Opened 4 bottles of wine for us to just try before even deciding on what we wanted to drink. One was even an '87 and not many still left! We had such a great time we skipped dinner that evening as we were so blissfully full of great wine, cheese & meets that tantalized our taste buds for a few hours! We will be back!!!

“A Lisbon MUST!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2013

This place is fantastic. More than just a drink, its like a mini wine/port tasting experience. I would recommend a glass of the 20 year old Khrone Tawny port. The bar food is also delicious. The owners are so friendly and went out of their way to make us welcome, we visited on my mums birthday and she said it was a day she would remember so thank you!

“Wonderful way to spend an afternoon!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2013

We where recommended to this fabulous bar by friends and they where right it is an absolute find!
We had visited the Castle and stopped in afterwards.
What a great way to spend the afternoon!
They even included our 13 year old daughter by giving her a wine glass for her water.
The antipasto platters where out of this world.
The wine delicious!
They don't rush you and really embrace their passion for Portuguese wine.
Enjoy!!!
