Description: On off the least pretentious of Lisbon's Fado restaurants is also one of its finest. Hosts Duarte Santos and Ana Marina treat guests as family and the homely ambiance is warming and inviting. The homemade gastronomy is noted for its textures and flavours and generous portions, with the seafood cataplana (stew) a much-lauded feast. The menu is limited, but here it's all about the quality of the food. As for the entertainment, this is local fado at its most authentic -- the singers and musicians have known each other for years, and the performance is heartfelt and genuine. Quite often, diners are invited to join in which makes the evening truly memorable.

Its a cozy restaurant, looks like you own dinning room. Great host and hostesse (Duarte and Marina) make you feel right at home. You can listen to typical Fado and Guitarra Portuguesa and taste some delicious traditional portuguese recipes like Cataplana de Marisco , Choquinhos or even a good steak. Homemade bread, great cheese and wine, and dessert are nice too!
They've got everything to be an excellent meal , great entertaining and nice company.
Dont miss it!

“Fado is better than the food”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

If you want to listen some fado, this could be the place, the food is ok, not cheap (maybe a beat expensive) but you must pay the singers and the musicians. For the food only isn't an option but all together is fine. Maybe a beat touristic

“OMG!”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

I had one of the best seafood dishes I have ever eaten, plus lovely host and hostess...

While we were in Lisbon for our honeymoon, well we wanted to see Fado singing and found out from Trip Advisor that this place is worth going... and that is 100% true...

I don't call it lovely dinner ... I call it the experience...and it began from the moment we have decided to book a table via email... to our pleasant surprise, the responce came in 5 minutes with confirmation...

We arrive there 20 minutes late and we called, however, the lovely host would never EVER give away your booking to another... and that is very nice of them...

We have been greeted by the host which is very friendly lovely man table was ready with lovely cheeses and YUM.O! bread that was cooked by the chef which is his wife and hostess and the Fado singer with OMG voice...

The house wine was great and they will offer you their speciality Catapalan seafood that I could not believe the taste it was heavenly... as well as everything else..

And then light will go off and candles coming... and night begins...I wish I was there now...it worth every single Euro...

Thank you so much for lovely night... peak of my honeymoon.

“It really is like going to dine at friends' house”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

On the Wednesday that we went , there were only six "customers" dining plus a couple who were friends of Ana Marina and Duarte, yet we were splendidly entertained by no less than 17 musicians (guitarists and singers) until after 1 a.m. The cataplana (fish stew) was great and Duarte was a marvellous host, constantly interacting with us six on a wide variety of subjects from Frank Sinatra to Alex Ferguson. The climax of the fado show was Ana Marina's performance at the end (in fact, we could have done with one or two more songs from her). At the end, taxis were called and Duarte waited outside with us until they arrived. Until you go, you cannot appreciate how small and personal the whole experience is.
