the restaurant is not for tourist but locals, very nice and peculiar style.. you will be astonished to see so many ties. Ask for the reason...One dish is enough for two, if you do not eat much. All what is put on the table even if you did not order you will have to pay, but if you will not eat it just tell the waiter to take it away. The normal house wine is cheap and good, specially the white one.
Its better to cal before as sometimes you may have to wait for your turn. Very cheap dishes and very good ones. Located in Carnide next to Benfica a bit hidden for so importante restaurante.

If you can find this little place, tucked away in a side street a few kilometres from the city centre, you will be well rewarded.

Good, authentic Portuguese fish and meat, served in a lively atmosphere and in a restaurant bedecked with hundreds of ties. Even at 9.30pm on a cold, wet Tuesday evening, the place was full, with at least 20 people waiting to get in.

And if you are used to British, French or German prices, you will not believe how cheap it is.

Well worth visiting if you are spending an evening in Lisbon.

This is one of the restaurants I would recommend to someone who wants to enjoy traditional portuguese cuisine. Not only is the food really tasty, but the atmosphere is actually quite unique. The restaurant's name is "Gravatas" which, in portuguese means "ties" and the whole place is decorated with dozens of ties hung nearly everywhere. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. I have brought some portuguese friends there to taste portuguese food and they simply loved everything. Great for families and groups of friends too.

Always a place to go! Although sometimes it is not easy to park your car, the food, service and the decoration will make you come back for more! Not suitable for vegetarians!

I understand what other reviews say!
Lets make some honest review here:

Food is good, almost very good, but service is bad, almost very bad.
They are efficient, but rude.
They work fast, but aren't nice with people.

Though, food is great, meat or fish.

Went there to dinner on a weekend for some friend anniversary, and was almost full.
So, try to make reservation earlier to ensure table.

Food: 4 almost 5
Service: 2 almost 1

There are really much better places to eat, and this is really not Lisbon Centre, but suburbs.
