The bedrooms and bathrooms are small but nicely appointed. The staff in both the hotel and the restaurant/bar are very helpful and speak many languages. The lift is quite small (and I am claustrophobic) but as our room as on the 6th floor, I wasn't going to walk. We stayed in room 609, which had the same view down the avenue as the terrace restaurant on the 7th floor. Charming! The terrace was nice for a late afternoon cocktail and a few moments of relaxation. The hotel gave us a list of local restaurants when we checked in; we tried one the first night and found it to be good but full of tourists--and quite expensive. There is plenty of good food in Lisbon--along with local people and atmosphere--that doesn't cost nearly as much. Venture out and trust your own instincts and you'll probably enjoy your visit more.
The hot and cold breakfast buffet is extensive, but if you don't see what you want, the staff are willing to take special requests. Omelettes, eggs benedict, whatever you want is available if you but ask.
It is nice to have a hotel within a few blocks of nice shops; we were able to walk back to drop off packages before going out again for either sightseeing or more shopping. The train station is across the street from the hotel, so it is easy to get transportation to the aquarium or other...The bedrooms and bathrooms are small but nicely appointed. There is probably no better hotel choice for location and standard of accommodation.More
